Russia's finance minister has urged his countrymen and women to support the country - by drinking and smoking more.
Alexei Kudrin called for increased consumption of tobacco and alcohol in a bid to boost the state's revenues...
"If you smoke a pack of cigarettes, that means you are giving more to help solve social problems," commented Kudrin.-Russians urged to drink and smoke more
Nicotine is a stimulant and alcohol a depressant, and government stimulus plans make depressions worse and prolong them. I don't know where I'm going with that thought, but I thought I'd throw it in. Of course, more government spending doesn't really stimulate anything but government itself (and its parasites).
