George Zimmerman video shows no signs of a "life or death" struggle
ABC News has obtained an exclusive surveillance video of George Zimmerman being taken into the police station in cuffs. In the video, it is beyond dispute that there is no blood or bruises that can be seen on Zimmerman’s face or the back of his shaved head or on his clothes. This seems to contradict the police who say Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head from being pounded into the pavement and had a bloody nose – his lawyer claiming it was broken. The video certainly shows no sign of a ferocious life and death struggle to justify a self-defense shooting – no blood, no bruises, or black eyes or swollen nose, no cuts on his head and no “bandages”.
Who are we kidding here? A bashed skull and a broken nose would make you end up in an emergency room – no?. Especially when you are in the care of police officers, they always want you to be checked out before they let you go. The video is clearly inconsistent with the police report.

A Woman Lectures Men And (Surprise) Gets It Wrong
Yesterday, I read this article about 7 things men can do to prevent abortions. To be quite honest, I do have my problems with it, largely because it was written by a woman who obviously doesn’t understand men. But let me first address here 7 points before I get into that:
- Make a personal commitment today to stop looking at pornography, stop engaging prostitutes and stop visiting strip clubs. First of all, what do those activities have to do with abortion? If men were the heartless sex hounds that we supposedly are, would we not just turn to actual women and impregnate them more frequently? As a Christian man, I do agree that such activities are immoral, but at the same time, I also recognize a fundamental fact: men want sex. If a husband or long-term boyfriend is caught engaging in any of these activities, I will say that his wife or girlfriend is not satisfying his needs. This is actually the more likely scenario as sex addiction is rare and often confused for normal male desire by most women.
- Make a personal commitment today to stand against sexual violence, rape and incest. No sane man would support sexual violence, rape, or incest. Even so, abortions performed in relation to rape or incest account for less than 5% of all abortions (I dare say it is probably less than 1% but I don’t have the exact figures).
- If you are Christian and have strong views, read this Susan B. Anthony essay and make a commitment today to be a better type of Christian husband. As a Christian husband, being one is actually easy and doesn’t require a lot of commitment. In any case, men require respect from their wives, not just love. Love is easy to come by, but we need to be respected. This means that Christian wives will have to submit to their husbands and trust in their judgments. A submissive Christian wife, however, is not a human doormat. None of this matters in relation to the topic of the article, though, as most abortions do not occur between married couples or couples in long-term relationships.
- Make a personal commitment today not to pressure a woman for sex of any kind when she says, "No," "I don't feel well" or "I'm tired." Again, nothing to do with abortions as married couples or couples in long-term relationships tend not get abortions. At the same time, part of being a submissive Christian wife is to fulfill your husband’s sexual needs regardless of how you feel. If he truly loves you, he will be sensitive to your needs as well. However, he is more willing to be a better husband provided his needs are fulfilled as well. The measure of any good marriage is how often the couple have sex. Women shouldn’t fear this as they can have sex much more often than men since most of the time we do all the work. Lastly, if a wife has any problems downstairs that would make sex uncomfortable, keep in mind there are other ways to satisfy your husband sexually. Again though, we find another issue that has nothing to do with abortion or the causes for it. If you aren’t having sex, then there is no need for abortion, right?
- Make a personal commitment today to know a woman for at least 6 months to one year before having intercourse with her. I can agree with this as a Christian man. However, as an unconventional Christian man, if your intention is to marry this women, then you need not set a time limit. My mother was a little unnerved when my brother got his long-term girlfriend pregnant two months before their wedding. I simply told my mother that they were, in fact, married and were just waiting on the ceremony. This is the real reason why having frequent sex with multiple people is so damaging: it damages your chances of having a healthy relationship with a single person. You are more likely to get divorced or split up if you have more and more sexual partners in the past. This reason, however, is a valid one in regards to abortion. Frequent hook-ups are the primary cause for abortions, coupled with a culture that encourages women to pursue a career over motherhood.
- Make a personal commitment today not to take advantage of any woman who has been drinking or is impaired. No sane man would do this either. This sin is usually the result of loners who are unable to hook-up with women from the get go. However, I think women, especially young college goers, should be avoiding parties where they will find themselves in that situation. I don’t cross a busy interstate and blame the car that subsequently hits me, do I? You have to recognize the dangers of being a women, seeing as how you are the physically weaker sex. Also, often times when this does happen, the man himself has had as much to drink if not more than the women and his judgment is impaired as well. It does not excuse his behavior, but getting drunk around drunk men is just a bad idea all around.
- Make a personal commitment today to stop smooth-talking and lying to women to "get in." True ALPHA men do not need to lie to “get in.” It is the BETA males who lie about themselves in order to hook-up and the failure of women to see through it. As for smooth-talking, it works so why should men give it up? How about women who go to the places where the smooth-talkers are? They know full well that the point of those places is to get banged by a smooth-talking liar. They just like the idea of being pursued by a suitable ALPHA male.
So we have three reasons that directly relate to the reasons why abortions occur and we have four that have absolutely nothing to do with it. There would be less abortions if there was less promiscuity, not necessarily a disrespect for women in general. As a Christian who is morally opposed to abortion, I have quite frankly given up on the political solution and now view it as a symptom of a corrupt and decadent society, not a root cause. The root cause is a culture that encourages and celebrates promiscuity. You want abortions to end? That’s great but don’t expect Republicans to ban it, the courts to change the laws, or the pro-life groups to make any headway with any Congressional member. Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the space between a proton and neutron in an Oxygen atom. A better solution is to drive abortion clinics out of business by creating an environment where it becomes unthinkable.
Laura Trice, the author of the article, means well, but I don’t think she is seeing this issue from anywhere else but her own solipsistic viewpoint. While I have many disagreements with what she said, I think we would both agree that being against promiscuity and for healthy long-term relationships is the ultimate solution to abortion. She just needs some focus, that’s all.
Personal Note: I thought about blogging about what has been happening to me in the past two weeks, but I don’t think it merits a full blog entry. Basically, two weeks ago I was laid off at my job. The next day, I had three interviews and a job offer. I’ve taken the offer and started working this week. I am just starting to get back into the flow of things in my life, hence the lack of blog entries for the past couple of weeks from me.
Flashback - New Black Panther Party: "You Want Freedom! You Gonna Have To Kill Some Crackers!"
This is the same New Black Panther Party that put out a bounty on victim of racism George Zimmerman's head. Let's make it clear, in a nation of statist "liberals" who oppose anarchism, the rule of law should, well, rule, so where is the "Justice" Department, where is the "law" enforcement, where are the condemning statements from Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton (perhaps their horrified reactions to this disgusting act of terrorism were just buried in the media frenzy), on this:
There is no respect for law or justice or due process when you can freely offer a reward for someone's kidnapping and murder. Plus, guess what, it's supposed to be illegal to do that. But, when you're black in Obama's America, apparently the law doesn't apply to you.

‘The Hunger Games’ elicits racist reactions
Last Friday’s highly anticipated release of the movie ‘The Hunger Games’pulled in a cool $155 million and delighted fans nationwide. But for some outright racist fans, the casting choices disappointed them.Read More
Fans went straight to Twitter expressing their upset that two of the main characters Rue and Thresh, Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi respectively, were African-American. Some also were disappoinetd that Cinna, Katniss’ stylist was played by Lenny Kravitz.
In her books however, Suzanne Collins clearly describes Rue and Thresh as having dark brown skin and dark eyes. Cinna was not specifically described as having dark skin, but that he had green eyes and short brown hair, meaning he was open to interpretation.
The tweets range from users saying they weren’t impressed by Thresh being a black man, losing excitement over the movie because Rue would be played by a black girl to the ever callous use of the “n-word.”
There are many obvious things wrong with these people’s reactions (besides their lack of reading comprehension), but the fact that American readers assume characters are white is the just the tip of the iceberg as the Tumblr ‘Hunger Games Tweet’ recognizes.
Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman - 150 Pounds of Muscle vs 200 Pounds of Fat
Zimmerman no doubt was in fear for his life when the tall hoodie-wearing (and possible jewel thief) Martin attacked him that night. Zimmerman was legally carrying a gun to defend himself. Thank God he was allowed to, and that in this country we can use guns to save our lives.
George Zimmerman, Son of a Retired Judge, Has 3 Closed Arrests
Did George Zimmerman have help from his father, a retired judge, in clearing his name in three separate arrests?
According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison.
All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident.

Obama on Trayvon Martin - Rampant Hypocrisy!
My questions would not concentrate on any racial implications because that should be irrelevant, and because the untimely death of anyone, regardless of color, is always a tragedy. So why is almost all the coverage based on white versus black or black versus white?
I would ask, why should the color of one’s skin matter, and why should any greater importance be placed on such a shallow and obvious race-related conclusion? Aren’t we all the same in that we are all human beings? Aren’t we all born with the same natural rights? Don’t we all live on this earth together? Do any of us have any say as to where we are born, or what color we are? Do any of us deserve more favorable consideration simply due the consequences of our birth and heritage? Would race be such a big issue without the agitators, the politicians, and the media’s continuous stirring of the pot of hatred of one group over another? In the scheme of things, is one man’s life worth more than another man’s life, simply due to the color of his skin? Only the truth should matter, except for those with an agenda, and something to gain from the pain of others.
What is really happening here? Is this story real or is it staged? What happened is real, but those who wish to gain something from the death of this young man have staged most of the rest. Those I speak of are not interested in finding out the truth, and they are not interested in the deceased or his family, they are only interested in themselves and in gaining an audience.
Who are these parasites? They are all different colors, and they are from the left and from the right, but they are all the same. They are users, and they are users with an agenda. Regardless whether they are in the media, in politics, or just agitators looking to cause a racial divide among us, they all come out for the cameras, and for the notoriety they seek. They are much like scavengers who seem to gravitate to any place where they are assured they can gain attention and cause trouble.
And of course, the president himself, Barrak Obama, the king of all politicians, also came forward to speak to the nation about this particular incident. His words and gestures were the epitome of agenda driven politics. As usual, his phrases were carefully chosen, and delivered in such a manner as to invoke false pity. He even made the comment: "My main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin. You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon." With this statement, he placed himself, metaphorically speaking, into the Martin family, while at the same time using the death of this young man as a political ploy to raise his poll numbers. What a narcissistic display by this pathetic political performer!
There are on average about 61,000 murders in the U.S. each year, with about half of those due to gunshot wounds. Many more deaths occur for other reasons every day, but Obama chose this single case to take on personally, and spoke about it to the entire nation. Why just this one incident? Why did he not feign sympathy for any of the many other deaths that occur in this country? Why does he not feign sympathy for the deaths of those innocents murdered overseas by American forces, forces that he commands?
Obama’s hypocrisy here is beyond the pale, and is beyond the imagination of any moral thinking person. This president has taken the aggressive wars started during the Bush administration, and dramatically expanded the carnage. He has presided over more aggressive interference and war in Egypt, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, and Syria, while threatening Iran and other countries. His regime and its military have murdered thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians in the Middle East. The recent attack in southern Afghanistan by a U.S. soldier was a literal slaughter of families, including little children while they slept. All this, but not a whisper of real sympathy was ever forthcoming from Obama about any of those deaths, except in the form of ‘blood money’ to pay off those relatives of slain family members in Afghanistan.
In October of last year, Obama boasted of the assassination of an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen. Two weeks later, the assassination of al-Awlaki’s 16-year-old son, an American citizen, took place, and his 17-year-old cousin, and nine other young innocent people died in that deliberate attack. Al-Awlaki’s son was the third American purposely murdered by the U.S. government in this two-week period. None were given any benefit of trial or due process, and no sympathy was forthcoming.
Does Obama really care about the deaths of innocent people, including children? Apparently, he wants the masses of apathetic state worshipers (voters) in this country to think so, or why would he specifically choose the Martin boy’s death as his personal cause? There have been many thousands of deaths of civilians overseas, and there are over 60,000 murders that occur in this country every single year, but he chose only one to speak about. Why?
The answer of course is obvious. This is pure hypocrisy! But it is not just hypocrisy, but also political grandstanding used for Obama’s personal gain, this at the expense of the truth. What in the world has become of humility, real sympathy, sensitivity, morality, and honesty? What has become of love for one another? What has become of sanity? I can tell you that none of these things exist in the White House, and none exist in most of the mainstream media.
All those who would use a "convenient" death to benefit themselves at the expense of others, who would attempt to advance an agenda of hate, and who would use their position to do these things, are calculating and without principle. I concentrate on Obama here, not because he is alone, but because of his powerful position. His behavior, behavior that is also shared by those who support him, and those who would act as he acts, is beyond contempt, and should serve as evidence of the continuing decline of this society!

100 Trayvon Martins
Minutes after walking out of their school Friday, a large group of students walked through the streets of North Miami Beach. Along the way, they stopped at a Walgreens at 163rd Street and 15th Avenue at about 10:40 a.m.
Surveillance video shows dozens of teenagers running through the store. Police said about 80 to 100 students stormed in, ransacking the shelves, before the school's vice principal ordered everyone outside.

Blog of the Moment: III Percent Patriots
Historians claim that perhaps 3 percent of Colonists took arms and fought the British.
Today, I am not sanguine that we have 3% of any subgroup in America willing to fight for Liberty.
But the title still represents that will, that mettle, grit and spirit to live as free men in a genuine state of Liberty.
By any means necessary.
Here is the finest, most articulate quote I have ever read regarding what "Morality" meant to our Founding Generation: Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. That was from the same Thomas Jefferson who was fond of Sally.
If you condemn a society for sex between 13-15 year-old kids, you condemn all of mankind, for our eternal history, and you really have little understanding of basic human anatomy and biology. You want your boys to be acting like men by age 15 but your daughters to wait until their 20's to be women? If you think teen sex is the reason we are failing as a nation, or it is the fault of teen aged girls in tummy-shirts, you are so far from the X Ring I simply can not be bothered.
Am I endorsing sex between my soon-to-be-teen niece and some boy? Hell no. And I will go out of my way to prevent it. I have a shovel just for the occasion. I already have the quiet little patch of woods picked for a fresh patch of daisies. But I also realize the base nature of the Human Animal - it's brain wiring, folks.
"Morality" is not infringing the equal rights of others.
Raise your family the way you see fit. Liberty is letting the other family do as they see fit - so long as the equal rights of others are not being infringed.-Moral Stupidity and the Realities of the Human Animal

MOX News Page Taken Down For Violation Of Community Guidelines On Tsunami Ghost Ship Video
YouTube is basically finished as a place where freedom for the individual to post videos and interact with others in an open forum flourishes. It's become too friendly to big corporations, and not just regarding enforcement of fascist copyright "laws", but for corporations themselves to have their own YouTube pages, and of course, a place that must be friendly to the corporate agenda so corporate advertisements can make money for the site.
It is finally time for something called FreedomTube?

"It's All A 3 Card Monte Game Designed To Lure Sucker Citizens Into Thinking Govt Really Cares"
Do you know why oil and prices are moving sharply higher? Some blame the oil companies, charging they are manipulating prices. Others cite U.S. sanctions on Iran and the threat of a military encounter that would disrupt the flow of oil from the Middle East.
Speculators, too are blamed for ostensibly bidding up the price of oil.
...
Yet, the basic reason for higher energy prices is being overlooked, even though it is right before our eyes: Oil prices are up because the value of the dollar is down. Our common sense hides this source of higher prices because we view the dollar as fixed, and prices as moving. News reports explain the sharp rise in consumer prices in February were caused by higher energy and food prices, implying that higher prices cause inflation. Of course, higher prices do not cause inflation. Higher prices are inflation. Read more: The Rising Price Of the Falling Dollar

Greg Palast: US Drops Plan For Extensive Review Of Fracking Natural Gas Extraction
Aubrey McClendon, America's second-largest producer of natural gas, has never been afraid of a fight. He has become a billionaire by directing his company, Chesapeake Energy, to blast apart gas-soaked rocks a mile underground and pump the fuel to the surface. "We're the biggest frackers in the world," he declares proudly over a $400 bottle of French Bordeaux at a restaurant he co-owns in his hometown of Oklahoma City. "We frack all the time. What's the big deal?"

Sheriff Joe vs. B.O.
“I’m not going after the president to keep him off a ballot or anything else, but that could happen,” Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. “I’m going at it strictly as a law-enforcement guy investigating a possible forgery and fraud. I’m sticking with that, but I’ll tell you one thing. We got tons of other information that could be very shocking, too, but I’m sticking now with just the [forgery] investigation and possible criminal violations.”-Sheriff Joe: 'Tons' more shocking Obama info
It's getting personal! Sheriff Joe has had enough!
The Republican sheriff now claims that Obama’s Selective Service registration form from 1980 was likely a forgery as well. Arpaio has asked Selective Service System Director Lawrence Romo to produce the original form so he can determine if it is authentic.-Arpaio asks Selective Service System for assistance in ‘birther’ investigation
Glenn Beck (a nutter himself) doesn't like this whole development, saying Sheriff Joe had handed Obama a "gift": “Okay. Look, I am a fan of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. I am a guy who has supported him in the past. I like him, I… I think he’s great on illegal immigration. But Joe, have you gone nuts?”-Huh? Sheriff Joe Arpaio gives Obama 2012 a gift, goes after birth certificate
Now, some on the right don't take kindly to Beck's "betrayal" of birtherism or as it may now be known, "documentism", as witness this:
BECK IS AN UNENTERTAINING MORON!...Arpaio's press conference went far beyond the birth certificate to include Obama's fraudulent Selective Service registration, missing INS records for international airline travel in the 8/1-10/1961 time frame, as well as the Connecticut Social Security number that Obama claims as his (the one that failed E-Verify!). Beck brings up the canard about the newspaper birth announcements. They were triggered by the registration of baby Obama's 'Hawaiian' birth at the Department of Health which generated the Certification of Live Birth (not birth certificate), the only document proffered by Obama and his henchmen until the April 2011 bombshell. -Free Republic

Is Obama a CIA Controlled Manchurian President?
Quote of the Moment: Dr Tomislav Sunic - "Democracy"
Oil or Snake Oil?
It’s interesting that politicians who so tirelessly proclaim their opposition to government meddling in the economy, and deny the effectiveness of such meddling, would express such hubris on the ability of activist government to solve an economic problem.
Not only do these people fail to understand the nature of the problem they’re promising to fix, but the promised fix itself is chock full of government intervention.
For example, Professor Gingrich seems to have a poor grasp of what the Peak Oil hypothesis actually says. Maybe they didn’t cover that on The Jetsons. Peak Oil has nothing to do with the total size of oil reserves underground, or how many years of America’s present energy needs they could supply. What Peak Oil is about is the rate at which those reserves can be extracted, the cost in money and energy of extracting it, and the diminishing size of the net energy returns when the energy cost of extraction is accounted for. The Energy Return on Energy Invested (EROEI) of the predominant sources of fossil fuel energy has been declining steadily since they first started distilling petroleum into gasoline.
The EROEI of the light sweet crude extracted in the early 20th century — the kind of black gold that come a-bubblin’ up when Jed Clampett was shootin’ at some food — was a mind-blowing 100. That is, for every barrel of oil consumed in the process of extracting, processing and distributing the fuel, the net return was ninety-nine barrels of oil.
The average EROEI on oil extracted today is about 20. The EROEI from the Canadian tar sands is under ten. Anything with an EROEI under three — like corn ethanol — isn’t economically worth the trouble of extracting unless it’s subsidized by the government. Over the history of fossil fuel consumption, we’ve consumed the low-hanging fruit first, and then moved on to progressively costly and energy-intensive alternatives as the cheaper stuff was exhausted.
Now let’s take a look at those Bakken oil reserves. The seemingly astronomical figure of 24 billion barrels that Gingrich cites is about the same size as the Prudhoe Bay reserves in Alaska. But despite the enormous size of the reserves on paper, the productivity of each well was far lower than the typical light sweet crude well in the older oilfields of the “lower 48″ — for a relatively modest output from a large number of wells.
And compared to the Bakken reserves, Prudhoe Bay was a cake walk. A much lower percentage of the entire reserve is recoverable, and the oil that’s extracted will require extremely costly hydraulic fracturing to remove it from the shale strata in which it is embedded. According Derek Andreoli at The Oil Drum:
Whereas conventional wells like those in the Thunder Horse reservoir produce at a rate of 40,000 bpd, only 14 of the nearly 9,000 wells in the Bakken produce more than 800 barrels per day, and the average well produces only 52 bpd. Even at 800 barrels per day, 50 Bakken wells would need to be drilled for each Liberty/Thunder Horse size well, and nearly 800 of the average size Bakken wells would be required.
In order to arrest North Slope declines, 700 average size Bakken wells will need to be completed each and every year.
The EROEI on Bakken shale oil is a whopping 6.
The simple fact of the matter is, with EROEI and output per well going off a cliff, all these miracle sources of new oil won’t be a patch on the output of the old, high-EROEI fields that are becoming exhausted.
Even if Professor Gingrich doesn’t believe in Peak Oil, the oil companies do — and what’s more, they actually understand it. The “Drill, Baby, Drill” peanut gallery is fond of pointing to offshore drilling as some sort of panacea. But the fact is that, even before the BP oil spill, the oil companies sat on enormous reserves of offshore oil they didn’t bother to develop.
The reason is that oil production is increasingly governed by the same laws Henry George observed in real estate. Because the supply of land is for all intents and purposes fixed, the supply cannot increase in response to demand; its price is governed entirely by the fluctuating rate of competition for the fixed supply at any given time. So the rate of real estate development is governed by the land owners’ estimate at any given time of the relative payoff of selling the land now, versus sitting on it and selling it when the price appreciates.
That’s exactly what the oil companies were doing with their offshore reserves. You can open up every square mile of offshore waters up to unlimited drilling, and the oil companies will still sit on it and wait to develop it when the price is right.
Back in the early ’80s, before oil production peaked, Reagan’s deregulation and the subsequent steep price rise resulted in a significant increase in oil output. So when gasoline hit $4.50/gallon in summer 2008, why didn’t oil exploration and production go through the roof? Why did production levels remain essentially flat?
Contrary to the promises made by these apostles of the activist state, the government simply can’t do much to affect the energy supply. Promises like Gingrich’s are pure snake oil.
Now for the second point: The proposed energy policies of Gingrich, Palin and the rest of the “drill baby drill” crowd require enormous levels of government intervention in the economy. You can hardly turn on your TV without seeing examples. The Keystone XL natural gas pipeline couldn’t be built without condemning land through eminent domain in order to acquire the right of way. Oil company trucks serving the Alberta tar sand fields are driving through Lakota land in violation of Lakota law, in order to avoid South Dakota’s per truck fees on heavy-hauling trucks.
Besides that, the more costly and intensive the methods required for fossil fuel extraction, the more harm is typically imposed on the people of surrounding areas. Hydraulic fracturing simply wouldn’t be economically cost-effective if oil companies were fully subject to tort action before local juries for the damage to groundwater caused by the toxic chemical cocktail used in fracking. The same goes for the economic and health damage caused by mountaintop removal, for the people living in the surrounding countryside.
The state provides enormous benefit to extractive industries by giving them privileged access to land originally preempted by the state, and by subsidizing their operations. But perhaps the single biggest subsidy government provides to the fossil fuel industry is regulatory preemption. The regulatory state’s environmental standards preempt more stringent common law liability standards, and create a safe harbor for corporate bad actors engaged in creating what is clearly a public or private nuisance. The liability cap for offshore oil spills is just the best-known example of the phenomenon.
Let there be no mistake about this: Newt Gingrich and the “Drill, Baby, Drill” people are not pro-market. They are pro-business. Palin and Gingrich may mock Solyndra, but they have no problem at all with fossil fuel subsidies and otherwise greasing the skids to make low-EROEI operations like Bakken profitable.
Gingrich has professed admiration for Henry Clay and the Whig policy of federal development of the economy through blockbuster infrastructure projects. Gingrich & Co. say they just want big, intrusive government to get out of the way of a fossil fuel economic boom. But despite their framing of the issue it’s actually about big, intrusive government intervening — right now — on the side of the fossil fuels industry. Like Dick Cheney and his hunting buddies, Gingrich just wants the government to be even bigger and more intrusive — on behalf of the right people.

Super Mario Brothers Is The World's Greatest Piece Of Surrealist Art?
We all know who the Mario Brothers are but have you ever stepped back and tried looking at those games from a fresh perspective? Like you've never seen or heard of them before? They're bananas! There are armored turtles who stand on their hind legs and steal princesses! There are bullets with FACES! We make a case for Mario's inclusion into a canon of art wider than "Video Game": we think Mario is a piece of surrealist artwork.-http://youtu.be/a2bAN9pPeiE

Meghan McCain in Playboy
“It’s just been so lame—so many debates, so much blather, so much oversaturation. Granted, my father is not running, so I’m biased, and we have an incumbent president, which changes things. But where’s the electricity? You’d think someone would rise up and tap the frustration and energy of the Occupy movement or the Tea Party, but it just hasn’t happened yet.”-Meghan McCain (daughter of Sen. John McCain)
She posed, but, unfortunately, not nude. And with all the animosity toward Obama on the right, combined with a still weak economy, you'd think there would be more energy and excitement firing things up. Well, there might be if the foolish Republicans would turn to Ron Paul. Truth be told, you can't effectively oppose Obama when your front-running candidates are so similar to B.O. and his big government polices (hmm, sounds like Meghan's dad).

Rules for Writing a Blog
Reading about writing is also about as entertaining as someone singing about singing or doing jokes about comedy. I think there’s a market there, but it’s really aimed at the fellow artists in the craft, and most people aren’t singers, comedians or writers. On top of that, most singers, comedians and writers are broke, so it’s not exactly a profitable route.
I don’t make any money on what I write, however, and I was asked to write about how to write blog posts. So, I figured… why the hell not?
The first rule of writing a blog: never turn down an idea. If even one person suggests you write about something, that’s one more potential reader than most blogs ever get. Why am I presenting these as rules? Because everyone looks at a set of rules and decides which ones they’ll follow and which ones they’ll ignore, but everyone follows some of them. People ignore suggestions and advice completely.
The second rule of writing a blog: carry a notebook and pen everywhere. It’s plain and simple. If you don’t do this, you will forget more good ideas than you remember. Your memory is nothing compared to the memory of a piece of paper. Well, that’s not to say you can only write notes on a piece of paper… some of my best ideas I had to write on my hand.
The third rule of writing a blog: do your chores. Some of these won’t even be about writing itself, because frankly, anyone can write. The trouble most people have is figuring out what to write about. I’ve written every day for years now, and the trick is to always have new ideas, and nothing seems to get the creative juices flowing quite like emptying your head and doing a dull, routine task like laundry, dishes, or even showering. This lets the creative part of your brain wander, since you are occupied with a simple task that requires no problem solving.
The fourth rule of writing a blog: no publicity is bad publicity. Eventually, you will offend someone. Even if you go out of your way to be polite and nice, some cunt somewhere will feel compelled to act indignant and post a link to your blog in some public forum, beseeching others to descend upon you with disapproval. Don’t worry about it; those people don’t matter. You have no control over whether someone gets offended by what you write, and you will find that such incidents will also attract those who agree with you. My most controversial posts are usually followed by legions of disagreeing commenters who disappear in a few days and a handful of pleasant new readers who stick around for a while. Thank the haters for publicizing your site, free of charge.
The fifth rule of writing a blog: expect nothing. If you blog hoping for people to read it, no one will read it. If you blog hoping people will comment on it, they’ll read it but leave no comments. If you blog hoping people will tell you how amazing your ideas are in the comments, they will leave comments telling you how much you suck. But if you expect nothing, after several years, you can expect someone to compliment you on what a fine idea you had maybe once or twice a month. Don’t let their kind words discourage you… keep expecting nothing and you will continue to be pleasantly surprised.
The sixth rule of writing a blog: keep it honest. I’m not suggesting people are lying in their blog posts, but sometimes people don’t tell the whole truth. Omit nothing. The more open you are, the more interesting it will be. All the things you think are too embarrassing, unflattering, sad, personal, or intimate are the things people want to actually read. And for fuck’s sake, insert your opinion in your blog post. No one wants to read a boring, mechanical, neutered post seemingly written for an encyclopedia.
The seventh rule of writing a blog: keep it short. Focus your ideas and don’t try to cover too much in one post. Few people will read it if your post is over five pages long in Word (oh yes… I recommend writing in a word processor and then copying it over…). It’s okay to make some long posts, but if you generally stay brief, you won’t have any problem getting people to read the occasional endlessly epic editorial essay. Still, more than about one a week and people will find your blog reminiscent of a daunting homework assignment.
The eighth rule of writing a blog: keep it witty. Not everyone can be funny, but it’s not that hard to drop a joke in here or there. Still, anyone can be witty. Being witty is nothing but being able to cleverly point out how similar things are different, and how different things are similar. If you present someone with a connection that they never made before, you’ll either make them think or make them smile. Either one will have them coming back.
The ninth rule of writing a blog: just write. Honestly, anyone can start a blog and say they’re a writer. It’s like buying a guitar. You can point to it and say you’re a musician, but until you actually sit down and play some music, you’re just a guitar owner. Don’t just be a blog owner, be a writer. That means sitting down at the keyboard and writing whatever is in your head, whatever you’re passionate about, whatever makes you have long, angry conversations with people. You may think you don’t matter, but what you write can mean something to someone, maybe not even today or tomorrow. I think it’s almost mystical that something you write late one night could make someone chuckle at work the next day, or maybe even motivate a person to change. Don’t get your hopes up on that latter outcome, though.
If you do all of these things… you’re a better blogger than I am.

Jack Cafferty: "The Military Industrial Complex Has Got Us By The Throat!"
We have definitely reached the point where some major media figures begin to question one of the ruling elite's wars. As happened with Vietnam, this signals the beginning of the end, but unlike Vietnam, it also means the beginning of the end of the entire American empire.
Afghanistan Denied Justice
So I am hearing today that the soldier who massacred 16 people in Afghanistan is being shipped back to our nation in order to stand trial. I think this is probably the dumbest thing that our government could have done, even though it is probably standard protocol for the “enlightened” nations of the west.
This soldier has committed an act of murder in a foreign nation. We have always been willing to let regular US citizens stand trial in foreign nations for crimes they commit based on the judicial processes of those nations. Why should we treat this soldier any differently when he was clearly not acting on the orders of the United States government?
Oh right. He was a soldier in a warzone, although technically the nation he was operating in is supposed to be our ally.
This whole incident reveals the contempt we truly have for Afghanistan and the government that we propped up. We gave them democracy at the end of a gun and then we flaunt their own system when we choose to. And we are supposed to be surprised and outraged when they riot in the streets over a Koran burning?
The truth of the matter is, we need to turn this man over to Afghan authorities to be tried for murder in an Afghan court system, whatever that may be. He will probably be found guilty and executed for his crimes.
Now, I am not saying that Afghani judicial process is superior to ours nor am I saying that it will be a fair hearing in comparison to our own. That is not the point of this. The point of this is that this man murdered 16 Afghani people, including women and children, in cold blood. Therefore, the people of Afghanistan are the avengers of blood and should be allowed to bring justice for their lost people.
Whatever his reasons for doing so are irrelevant. Temporary insanity is irrelevant. People are dead in a foreign nation and they are being denied the true justice that they deserve. I don’t care how fair their system is nor do I care that he will probably be executed within a year of being turned over to the Afghan authorities.
The fact remains, he committed a serious crime in a foreign nation and should have to account for it.

Quotes: Plato
But should we be ruled at all? I'm certainly not "apathetic", but it doesn't matter. In our "democracy" we will be given a "choice" this November between candidates of the two wings of the same ruling plutocratic party.
Of course, Plato's views on the state and rulers, democracy vs. tyrants, etc, are subjects for interesting discussions on their own.

Santorum Scores Another Double Victory, But Not By Much
In Alabama, with 96.3% of precincts reporting, Santorum has 34.5% of the vote and 16 delegates. Gingrich has 29.3% of the vote and 12 delegates. Romney has 29% and 10 delegates.
In Mississippi, with 98.1% reporting, Santorum has 32.9% and 13 delegates. Gingrich has 31.3% and 12 delegates. Romney has 30.3% and 12 delegates.
This is not the kind of win Santorum would have liked, by any stretch of the imagination. With delegates split in these two contests as close as three candidates could probably muster, the results of the Hawaii caucus (which will allocate 20 delegates) is likely to put Romney ahead for delegates picked up in today’s contests, despite Santorum’s double victory in the deep south.
Santorum now adds Alabama and Mississippi to his list of southern victories, along with Tennessee. Gingrich had hoped to establish himself as the Southern favorite after his wins in South Carolina and his home state of Georgia, but to no avail. Still, while many (including myself) predicted that Gingrich would exit if he lost both Alabama and Mississippi at this stage, it’s unlikely he will feel compelled to leave after picking up 24 delegates, just 5 short of Santorum’s 29.
Romney continues to play horribly in the South. His “y’all” and “grits” pandering didn’t win him any votes, but he still managed to perform moderately well, picking up 22 delegates. In many respects, it’s unimportant whether Romney does well in the South, because the South is in the bag for the GOP ticket come November, so there’s no real worry among Republicans that there is such a lack of enthusiasm for the Massachusetts moderate.
Even before this pair of primaries, Santorum has become increasingly vocal that Gingrich should bow out. Indeed, if I were Santorum, I too would want Gingrich to get the hell out of the race. I wouldn’t be surprised (yes I would…) if Romney starts donating to the Gingrich campaign to keep it afloat if it starts to flounder, because so long as the conservative vote is split between Santorum and Gingrich, Romney is a sure-thing.
Meanwhile, in non-news, Ron Paul continues to get no love, either from the media or the GOP establishment. Hmm… what do you expect from someone who derides the “liberal media” and the traditional Republican platform? In any case, I’m happy to cover him, especially when it’s not very flattering…
And boy did Ron Paul’s campaign get kicked in their hypocritical balls. Ron Paul scored his first victory in the campaign, winning the popular vote in the Virgin Islands. Now, you might think I’m going to joke about how this isn’t surprising, given that Ron Paul’s frustrated male base is probably composed primarily of virgins, but I won’t sink that low. No, what I find to be so hilarious is Paul’s reaction to the delegate assignment.
Ron Paul’s campaign has openly and at times gleefully discussed manipulating the delegate system in states like Maine in order to get more delegates than those who actually won the popular vote. It seemed to be the Ron Paul strategy to coolly and methodically game the system in order to pick up as many delegates as possible, through any means necessary.
But when the Romney campaign managed to do just that in the Virgin Islands, picking up 7 over Ron Paul’s single delegate, I half expected the principled and consistent Paul campaign to shake their head and mutter, “Touché, you rich fuck.” Instead, they threw a hissy fit, crying “unfair” and “injustice.” While I am inclined to agree, that isn’t fair or just, and I want to see the wishes of the voters being represented… I find it hard to feel any sympathy when a cheater gets cheated.
So those are the early results and analysis, pre-Hawaii. Hawaii is expected to go to Romney, and delegates are apportioned 3 to the winner and the remaining 17 go proportionally based on caucus results. Ron Paul is expected to pick up delegates here, I assume the honest way: through strong voter support.

Alabama and Mississippi Republicans: "Obama Is A Muslim"
Even better, 25% of them there GOP voters still believe interracial marriage is a crime against nature (well, they think it should be illegal, so I'm assuming that's part of the reason - how dare them darkies breed with our white women)...
After years of battling false claims and viral emails alleging that he is a Muslim, President Obama hasn’t gotten far among Republican voters in Alabama and Mississippi – about half still believe he is Muslim and about 1 in 4 believes his parents’ interracial marriage should have been illegal, a new poll shows.-Poll: Obama's a Muslim to many GOP voters in Alabama, Mississippi

Republicans Pathologically Incapable of Acknowledging the Truth
When Alabamans planning to vote in the upcoming Republican primaries were asked if Obama is a Christian, Muslim or if unsure, 14% polled said Christian (the correct answer… for anyone reading this who might be from Alabama or Mississippi), 45% answered Muslim, and 41% answered that they were not sure. The numbers become even more hilarious when you shift over to Mississippi, the poorest, most conservative, least educated state in the country. There, 12% answered Christian, 52% Muslim, 36% unsure.
So basically… we’re dealing with folks down there who don’t even know a basic, common knowledge piece of information about a man they supposedly hate, which leads me to believe… do they hate Obama, or the conservative simulacrum of Obama? Does it even matter if they hate the man or the false image of him?
But wait, there’s more…
In Alabama, 3% of those polled described themselves as “very liberal,” 3% as “somewhat liberal,” and 13% as “moderate.” What do you want to bet that basically accounts for all of the “Christian” responses? The picture looks similar among those polled in Mississippi: 3% “very liberal,” 5% “somewhat liberal,” and 14% “moderate.” Note: these are numbers based on those polled who plan to vote in the Republican primary on Tuesday, so this is not representative of the state’s population as a whole.
In Alabama, 26% of those polled acknowledge evolution, 60% deny it, and 13% are unsure. In Mississippi, again, it’s slightly more grim, with 22% acknowledging evolution, 66% denying it, and 11% not sure.
But my favorite question came last. Today, in 2012, when asked if interracial marriage should be legal or illegal, 67% of Alabamans said legal, 21% said illegal, and 12% were not sure, while in Mississippi it was 54% legal, 29% illegal, and 17% unsure.
Republicans aren’t just wrong, they’re wrong in eras we’ve all moved past long ago. They’re several decades behind, even in how ignorant they are.

17 Year Old Murdered By Vigilante
Case in point, 26 year old George Zimmerman decided he didn’t like the look of a black teenager walking through his gated community, so he shot him. With no crime committed besides walking-while-black, Zimmerman took it upon himself to end a young man’s life because… and that’s where I don’t have an answer.
Oh sure, Zimmerman is the head of his local Neighborhood Watch, which I guess licenses him to make life-or-death judgment calls. I’m sure he was just “protecting” himself from such a vicious 17 year old boy on his way home from buying candy at a convenience store.
That’s the victim, Trayvon Martin. Truly menacing…
Why couldn’t Zimmerman just call the police, like any sane person? Well, he did, and he was told that police were on the way… and to stop following the boy. He didn’t, ended up engaging Trayvon in conversation, and at some point murdered him in cold blood.
And if that isn’t bad enough, the police didn’t do the right thing when they arrived, either. They didn’t run a background check on Zimmerman, whose violent past would have been revealed, like when he was arrested for battery and resistance.
When police arrived, rather than arresting the killer, they let Zimmerman go, presumably because they have more important things to do than arrest adults who shoot kids. I mean, this is Florida, after all. There’s bound to be some cocaine somewhere that needs confiscating.
There’s nothing quite as disturbing or disgusting as street justice.

Asteroid Threatens Earth Again - 2013 Year of Judgement on Evil???
here is the truth! read this!
To avert a possible catastrophe – this time set for February 2013 – scientists suggest confronting asteroid 2012 DA14 with either paint or big guns. The stickler is that time has long run out to build a spaceship to carry out the operation.
NASA's data shows the 60-meter asteroid, spotted by Spanish stargazers in February, will whistle by Earth in 11 months. Its trajectory will bring it within a hair’s breadth of our planet, raising fears of a possible collision. http://rt.com/news/paint-asteroid-earth-nasa-767/
