Cop Hater or Anarchist?

“Do you genuinely hate police or are you an anarchist?” says the officer... Why can't it be both?

The Good Cop/Bad Cop Question
Posted by
Nick
I've been saying this over and over but thanks to Robert Higgs for saying it better than I could. It's necessary to emphasize this because we keep hearing the idiotic objection that most cops are good guys and the nonsense that "the cops I know personally, have encountered, etc., have been nice and are sweet as pie". Bullshit!
The whole good cop/bad cop question can be disposed of much more decisively. We need not enumerate what proportion of cops appears to be good or listen to someone's anecdote about his Uncle Charlie, an allegedly good cop. We need only consider the following: (1) a cop's job is to enforce the laws, all of them; (2) many of the laws are manifestly unjust, and some are even cruel and wicked; (3) therefore every cop has agreed to act as an enforcer for laws that are manifestly unjust or even cruel and wicked. There are no good cops.

The Cops Don't Work For Us
Posted by
Nick
I see that some people
have become a bit upset with how the police are conducting themselves
recently. They declare that the police need to be reminded that "they
work for us, not the other way around." This statement expresses an
utterly naive and untutored idea.
The police don't work for us, if by "us" we mean you, me, and at least 95 percent of the rest of the population. On the contrary: we work for them, literally; we work to earn money and acquire wealth that they take forcibly from us for their own support, either by taxation or by outright confiscation (civil forfeiture). The cops don't work for us; they never worked for us. They work now, as they have always worked, for the government, which is to say, for the small part of the population that has any nonnegligible control over the government at any level -- federal, state, or local. Certainly no more than 5 percent of the population has any such control. More likely the percentage is 1 percent or less of the population.
The cops themselves know damned well whom they work for, and they know it's not "us." If it were us, they would not be treating us as they are; nor would we tolerate such treatment for even a moment.-Robert Higgs

Smashed Bread Was The Least Of Her Problems

The American police state is no longer emerging, it's here, where everything is criminalized, and all of us are in danger of being kidnapped and held against our will by the thugs in government clown costumes. She says her husband kept squishing the bread in their cart by putting frozen pizzas on top of it, and Wolf expressed her displeasure at the situation. That's when her night got really bad. A fellow shopper approached her and accused her of using the F-word in front of her kids. "I'm like, 'When did I say this to my kids?'" Wolf tells WJBF. "I said that to my husband, that he was smashing the bread." But somehow the police were called, and Wolf ended up getting arrested in the incident late Sunday.-Mom arrested for swearing in front of kids
The fucking shopper who complained deserved to be cursed at! People like her should slash their wrists and leave a planet they have no business being on.

Kid Confronts Cop Breaking the Law

Good comment at YouTube: You should give cops as much shit as possible for every little infraction they break because they give you as much shit as possible for every little thing you do. This is why the police are the way they are, because everyone's too scared to call them out on their shit

Kansas to criminalize complaints against cops?
Posted by
Nick
House Bill 2698 in the Kansas State legislature has run cold, but if enacted, it would deal a serious blow to anyone who has a complaint against cops. The bill would remove the option to complain anonymously, allow the cop in question to see the evidence against him or her before investigation, prevent the FBI or other agencies from looking into complaints the cops deemed fraudulent, and perhaps worst of all, criminalize the filing of a complaint that is dismissed by cops.-http://youtu.be/qWdvFO1QKrU
It would appear that this bill is simply designed to intimate victims of police abuse. In a police state age of militarized cops and curtailed civil liberties and stories almost every day of innocent citizens brutalized by thugs in government uniform, no wonder the powers that be (the state) are getting worried and are now hopelessly trying to "nip in the bud" the right of the people to respond to the injustices of "law" enforcement.

Riverside Cop Tricks Autistic Teen into Buying Pot
Posted by
Nick
"We felt like our family was totally violated by the sheriff's department and the school district," says Doug and Catherine Snodgrass of Temecula, California. Last December their 17-year-old autistic high school son was arrested after twice buying marijuana for an undercover Riverside county police officer. The undercover operation, titled "Operation Glass House," spanned a few months and included undercover officers in three area high schools: Chaparral, Temecula Valley, and Rancho Vista Continuation. The officers posed as regular high school students and would ask other students for drugs. Twenty-two students were arrested - the majority of them are reported to be special needs students like the Snodgrass' son.-http://youtu.be/0t1oVWOlnk8Yes, correct, it's not the drugs that are most harmful, it's the evil war on drugs that is evil and destructive to all human values. FUCK THE COPS and all who love the state and its "laws"!!! h/t to T.C.

When Killer Cops Get a Pass, There are Consequences

"That 400-year-old system, the Westphalian nation-state, is disintegrating around us even now. Its 200-year-old progeny, the "police" system as we know it, will almost certainly slide into the dustbin of history with it."
When the United States dissolves, as is it inevitably shall, the range of possibilities looks something like this:
At one end of the continuum, former police officers move on. The worst of them may find themselves shunned by right-thinking people, but most of them get real jobs, become productive members of society and spend the rest of their lives trying to live down their sordid pasts … and maybe even succeeding.
At the other end of the continuum, former cops are hunted down like vermin and exterminated without mercy by their victims, their victims’ families and their victims’ friends, with onlookers cheering the executions on, or at least declining to intervene.
The jury’s acquittal of Ramos and Cicinelli was a vote for the latter outcome. It was also a vote for continuing and escalating police lawlessness. The less the specifically guilty individuals pay for their crimes now, the more such crimes we will have, the more the generally guilty class will pay later … and the sooner that later will come.-When Killer Cops Get a Pass, There Are Consequences

Costumed Thug Shoots Old Man

I thought about my dad when I read about this travesty of justice. My dad is elderly and has a hard time getting around these days, and though he recently began using a walker, before that he always had his cane with him. I can imagine him in this sort of situation, even though I can count on one hand the number of times he's been pulled over by a government clown-costumed thug with a badge driving an evil, decorated clown car with lights and sirens.
It last happened a few years ago when an asshole in a uniform stopped him for going 34mph in a 30mph zone. It was a stretch of road where it was very hard to maintain such a slow speed. My dad is a slow driver anyway, he's never been an impatient motorist or a leadfoot, so I know he wasn't driving irresponsibly or endangering anyone. In fact, it was a lazy afternoon and no other cars were even on the that road. Did this POS cop give my dad a break or a warning? No, the asshole wrote him a ticket that he could ill afford to pay on his fixed income. I'm just glad my dad didn't reach for his cane, though I wouldn't have been sorry to see that cop have a cane make hard contact with his skull.
York County deputy Terrence Knox pulled over Bobby Canipe for an expired license tag. When Canipe got out of his pickup trick and reached for his cane, officer Knox fired multiple rounds, believing him to be grabbing a long rifle.-Cop Shoots Old Man Reaching For His CaneSo this deputy gets a paid vacation while waiting for the usual verdict of "appropriate response", as in the statement by the Sheriff's spokeman: "It does appear, at this time, that Deputy Knox’s actions were an appropriate response to what he reasonably believed to be an imminent threat to his life." Shot for the made-up "crime" of having an expired tag. All cops and ass kissing cop lovers ("law" enforcement supporters who go around with "support our police" stickers and such) should do peaceful people a favor and just shoot themselves instead.

You can hear Luis groaning and those were, unfortunately, the last sounds he appears to make.-Watching your husband die at the hands of policeA co-worker was watching this video at work today. Usually you get pro-cop and pro-military bullshit from the average worker drone, but this young man was very upset and angry at what he was seeing in this video. He kept repeating "police brutality" and "how can this happen in America". There is hope. Young people are waking up. Beware tyrants, your blood may soon be spilled in the fight for liberty.

Police Shoot, Kill 80-Year-Old Man In His Own Bed, Don't Find the Drugs They Were Looking For

In the early morning hours of June 27, 2013, a team of Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies pulled up to the home of Eugene Mallory, an 80-year-old retired engineer living in the rural outskirts of Los Angeles county with his wife Tonya Pate and stepson Adrian Lamos.
The deputies crashed through the front gate and began executing a search warrant for methamphetamine on the property. Detective Patrick Hobbs, a self-described narcotics expert who claimed he "smelled the strong odor of chemicals" downwind from the house after being tipped- off to illegal activity from an anonymous informant, spearheaded the investigation.-http://youtu.be/RZFlIK-zAO8

The Devil's Chair

A newly released video shows detention deputies at Tennessee’s Rutherford County Jail pepper-spraying a captive who was locked into a device often called the “Devil’s Chair.”
The victim had been detained on a charge of “resisting” – no details were provided as to what he was resisting, or why it was supposedly a crime to do so. While on-camera, the victim put up no visible struggle. An officer identified as Deputy James Vandermeer can be seen inserting pepper spray into the gap in the “spit shield,” an appliance that covers the victim’s face. After the shield was removed ten minutes later, the inmate was left convulsing and crying for help for an hour and fifteen minutes. He never received medical attention. - Another Reason to Resist: The “Devil’s Chair”

...police allegedly broke the arm of an emotionally disturbed 16-year-old boy after two cops tried to remove him by force from a school bus.
Rotterdam police allegedly broke the arm of an emotionally disturbed 16-year-old boy after two cops tried to remove him by force from a school bus he refused to leave, and a video revealed the cracking sound of a bone followed by the teenager's moans and shouted expletives.
Now an attorney representing the teenager's family is suing the town and seeking damages in excess of $1 million for a fractured humerus, possible nerve damage, medical expenses and pain and suffering.
The attorney said the teenager's medications were being adjusted at the time, limiting his ability to move. He has been diagnosed with multiple emotional disorders, including Tourette syndrome, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder and pervasive developmental disorder, according to the family's lawyer.-$1M lawsuit after troubled teen's arm broken by police in removal from school bus

Unarmed Man Shot Dead By Police While Watering Lawn
Posted by
Nick
This is from a few years ago, but the comments at the video are recent (some from today, actually) and it is consistent with the violent cop incidents taking place everyday that even Drudge is now reporting prominently.
Here is a perfect example of the citizen spy culture taking root in the USA with the "If you see something, say something" program encouraged by Homeland Security. A 911 call apparently was made after a neighbor mistakenly interpreted a man sitting on a porch as a "drunk with a gun." Officers arrived, ready for battle, and the man was killed . . . while watering his friend's lawn.-http://youtu.be/u6S7LRrCru8
"Police acknowledge they never asked the man to drop what they thought was a gun" (a spray nozzle for the end of a hose) "or spoke to him in any way", and yet they were "forced to shoot" and kill him. Of course they were "forced" to do it. They committed cold-blooded murder and the criminal police culture will protect its own (imagine, however, if you or I had shot someone dead in similar circumstances).
The evil (yes, EVIL) neighbor who called police to report an innocent man harming no one said on his 911 call "He's just sitting there with his legs crossed on the porch landing". Oh my god! What a threat! Just sitting there with his legs crossed! CALL THE POLICE!!! Another goddamned (yes, if there is a God you will burn in hell, you fucking cop-lover!) busybody calling 911 and the state's uniformed thugs for no good reason. The 911 operator asks the piece of shit statist if he knows what kind of "gun" the man is holding. He replies: "Basically what I can see, he's moving it back and forth, it looks like a little tiny six-shooter or something like that." This moron wouldn't know a gun if he saw it up close just before it blew a hole through his sick, freedom-hating brain. "Back and forth"? Oh yeah, he was watering! That's what you do when you're watering.
