County Sues Farmer For Growing Crops on His Own Land

An American farmer has been fined 5,000 dollars for growing vegetables on his own farmland.Steve Miller says he has been growing broccoli, cabbages and other crops for 15 years. He says he sells some produce at farmers markets and gives some away.

  1. THis is nothing but a local government in debt trying to squeeze some money out of its citizens. The real problem is Senate bill 510.

  2. You know, I haven't heard this story on Neal Boortz's show, even though he lives (or at least broadcasts) in the area. I would've thought he'd be all over this.

  3. Well, assuming you don't think the government has the ability to do anything... the guy might be wrong. He wasn't zoned for employed farming, and he hired workers. If you didn't have a driver's license, but you applied for one and got it, you wouldn't retroactively have the fine for driving without a license removed.

    Yes, it sucks, and the amount is certainly abusive for the size of "operation" he has going, but what do you expect when youre politicians have been bought by Monsatan or whatever that company is called who makes all our food taste awful.
