Glenn Beck's MLK Jr Rally
Posted by

So it turns out that Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and other dingbats will be praising Martin Luther King, Jr at some sort of "I have a dream" rally. There are all kinds of conservatives out there claiming MLK was a conservative. Ummm....no. MLK never hid the fact that he was a democratic socialist who hated US imperialism. He was well to the left of Jeremiah Wright and the other "radicals" the right hates. It was conservatives who fought against him back in the day! The Beck rally is too stupid to be believed.

I'm sure their point will be that MLK was a Republican, because it was southern Democrats who supported segregation. It's almost brilliant... hopefully there will be actual political dialogue now beyond, "They're racist!"
ReplyDeleteBeck's rally isn't really about MLK, it's about restoring honor and a vision that MLK had - content of character should matter more than the color of ones skin, or the religion one claims to follow, or the ethnicity someone was born into. It's about truth at any personal cost. Personally I thinks it a pretty noble endeavor, and I'd be willing to bet at least a million people who think as I do will be on the national mall come Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI think it is great, a manipulative statist agitator and personally decrepit whoremonger like MLK who had absolutely NO personal character turned into a saint - only in America. Then to have that same deified personality lauded by a disingenuous hack and media whore like that "idiot's pied piper" Beck is just icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteA million people? I'll tell you what, if they get a million, I'll vote Republican in November. I bet they don't even get 100k. The Tea Party stuff is all Fox News hype; there's no real populace movement to back it up.
ReplyDeleteI find it so strange that Beck speaks of himself in the same breath as MLK and scheduled his rally on the anniversary of King's "I Have a Dream" speech. Beck was never a friend of the black community, so what symbolism is he going for? Is this for his own self-aggrandizement? Probably.
ReplyDeleteI was tempted to infiltrate the rally just to see what silliness would take place, but I decided againts it because of (1) parking and (2) safety.
Glenn Beck? Self-aggrandizing? Never!
ReplyDeleteI have a dream... that a plane with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on it crashes into a mountain. It's sort of a wet dream...
And then Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck sit waiting for the other to die so they can be eaten for sustenance.
