God chosen terrorists were the Irgun which was a political predecessor to Israel's right-wing Herut (or "Freedom") party, which led to today's Likud party. Benjamin Netanyahu is the present leader. Likud has led or been part of most Israeli governments since 1977.
In July 2006, Israelis, including the past and future Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former members of Irgun, attended a 60th anniversary celebration of the bombing, which was organized by the Menachem Begin Centre. The British Ambassador in Tel Aviv and the Consul-General in Jerusalem protested, saying "We do not think that it is right for an act of terrorism, which led to the loss of many lives, to be commemorated." They also protested against a plaque that claims that people died because the British ignored warning calls, saying it was untrue and "did not absolve those who planted the bomb."-King David Hotel bombing
54 innocent civilians were killed in the terrorist bombing of the hotel, something Israel and its leadership do not apologize for and still celebrate. There is one standard for Israel, you see, and another for everyone else.
I know most of this focuses on the Bush years, but maybe a liberal adding that Obama is no better will add a little weight. America in general is a terrorist state towards nations who don't bow before us.
