Could Millions Die From Gulf Oil Spill?

Hype? Hysteria? Environmentalist wackos on overdrive? Or a real health catastrophe?

  1. I think it's more likely that tourism and fishing industries in the area will die.

  2. Your question is valid, and ties in with my blog

What happens to the inside of the Earth when oil and natural gas is extracted? Often times this mining occurs deep under the ocean floor, as in the case with the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig in the Gulf of Mexico. In September 2009, the rig drilled the deepest oil well in history at a vertical depth of 35,050 feet (10,683.2 m) and measured depth of 35,055 feet (10,685 m).

'Nature abhors a vacuum'. So is there further danger coming our way?
