The Real Stupid

It's only Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and others irrationally hated (as opposed to hated or disagreed with on rational grounds) by the phony left (I'm on the real left, and I'm even much farther to the left than pretend leftist Bret "Ginx" Alan) that get taken to task by the statist media for various supposed gaffes.

But when it's Chris "Thrill up my leg" Matthews or Chuck "Criminal Scumbag" Schumer...

Chris Matthews Says Panama Canal is in Egypt

Charles Schumer's Three Branches of Government

“They are getting wary because of the large debt we have, which we have to get down, but if they feel that people are willing to shut down the government, you could risk the credit markets really losing some confidence in the United States Treasury, and that could create a deeper recession than we had over the last several years — God forbid, even a depression. So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strongly they feel — you know, we have three branches of government. We have a House. We have a Senate. We have a president. And all three of us are going to have to come together and give some, but it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling.”- Chuck Schumer’s civics lesson: Omits judiciary as ‘branch of government’

The House and the Senate are the two parts of the national legislature, the United States Congress, making up together just one branch of those three branches, the legislative, the executive and the judiciary.

  1. Well, looks like I can't go posting any more Chris Matthews Senator Schumer videos and news articles. Rats...

Why do you think you should attach people to my name that I have never even mentioned before, and what fucking planet are you living on that you think you're more left of me? You don't even believe government plays a legitimate role in society, so it's literally impossible for you to believe in concepts like universal healthcare or even the basic concept of a "public good."

  2. Chuck Schumer's REAL 3 branches of Government:

    - Bankers, Insurers, Big Rx, Big Med, "Developers"
    - Defense/Security and other Govt Contractors
    - The Servants of the above two branches

  3. Also, it's pretty stupid that you think Chris Matthew is dumber than someone who is stumped by the question, "What do you read?" I'm sure not interested in defending Matthew, but to say that the left is actually the party of dumber people is not only ignorant of the fact that more intelligent people actually are more likely to be liberal, but it is a blatant attempt to ignore the greater problem on the right in favor of cherry-picking a select few examples on the left.

But you go ahead and fight the conservative, right-wing battle of trying to deflect attention from the overall stupidity of the right by trying to frame it as each side being equally dumb. It's a decent tactic, since it's impossible to actually paint the right as anything but a drooling pack of idiots, so it's easier to try to find a few examples on the left and pretend it balances out. Maybe you could insult Michael Moore and then I'll see three examples on the left and abandon it completely... no seriously, maybe...

  4. what fucking planet are you living on that you think you're more left of me?

I'm a left-libertarian. And yes, I'm more left than you. I support the abolition of capitalism, you support it. I want worker control of the workplace, you defend hierarchies. You pretend that the corporation-supporting state can give ordinary people better lives, while all it does is enrich elites. I want the fascist copyright/patent laws eliminated, you defend keeping laws that deny people the freedom to use ideas freely.

I want a society where everyone is truly equal and free, you don't. I want to abolish private property and rent and interest, you don't. Who is more left, again?

it's literally impossible for you to believe in concepts like universal healthcare or even the basic concept of a "public good."

How is that impossible? Again you show your ignorance of the difference between society and the state.

  5. Nikk, you're trying to argue over semantics if you see a difference between society and state. State is a completely arbitrary term which can mean too many things to pin down, as is the case for society. The bottom line is, organization is not anarchic, and any form of organization that does not centralize power in some way is doomed to violently quarrel amongst its components; this is true both of present-day nations and the world itself as a whole.

You can postulate for days about how you think a voluntary society will work, but in the end there will be no consensus and there will be dissenters, and there must be a way of deciding what is done. Doing nothing at all is still a choice, and it tends to be the conservative one, and it tends to be wrong.

There will always be malcontents, and there will always be those who either are or simply feel disenfranchised, and I hate to point this out, but... it's liberals to tend to listen to the voice of those who can't speak up for themselves. That doesn't mean liberals are always right, but I know for a fact conservatoves live with their heads in a bubble, observing a world which only faintly resembles the shadows of the real.

What's more, your idea of "being more left" is ridiculous. You can't abolish "rent." Your idea of being more left will basically result evicting millions of people into homelessness. You're only "left" of me if you consider leftists to be hopeless dreamers who imagine a world where everyone is able-bodied, self-motivated, creative, talented, and educated. Frankly, that sounds more like a "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" derivative to me, implying everyone inherently has the tools they need to help themselves.

  6. Like I said, I'm more to the left than you. Rent is exploitation and is based on capitalist concepts of private property. Do you really believe that the long-term occupant of a home is not its rightful "owner". It's simply natural law. Control of property must be based on occupancy and use, not some piece of paper issued by the state that allows one person or corporation to own hundreds or thousands of rental units.

And no, the state is not the same as society. Do you really believe that the Nazi state, or the Soviet Stalinist state, was the equivalent of the German or Russian peoples?

You can postulate for days about how you think a voluntary society will work, but in the end there will be no consensus and there will be dissenters,

Yes, and instead of being taxed, jailed and killed by armed thugs of the state, they'll be free to live as they choose. Why do you hate freedom so much, Bret, that you think things have to be "run" from a central command and dissenters have to be punished?

  7. "What's more, your idea of "being more left" is ridiculous."

Sorta like how you postulate liberals are on average "smarter" than conservatives?

Nikk, I will take the other side because my family owns property. Here's the thing. When we buy property we carry a mortgage. A mortgage for multiple unit properties is not cheap and takes at least 25 years to pay off. So I would argue for at least 25 years that person doesn't own squat until I pay my obligations. Rent goes towards paying a mortgage - people forget that.

We take the risk because the value of the land makes it worth it.

    I'm throwing it out there.

As for who is more leftist. Which of you are lefthanded like me? Well?

  8. T.C., I never stated anywhere that you don't have the right to recoup an investment, including one in real property.

  9. I know.

But I was instead referring to:

"Do you really believe that the long-term occupant of a home is not its rightful "owner"."

    Unless I completely misread this!
