I’d like to formally invite anyone interested to join in the second Live Blogging event tonight, here on Skeptical Eye, during Obama’s State of the Union address. The first one was during the 2010 election. All throughout the speech, I’ll be making live updates to the post and responding to comments (don’t expect me to defend Obama, however… please remember, I didn’t vote for him).
I think it will be a good way to enjoy an otherwise boring and futile evening. I’ll begin blogging about a half hour before the speech, organizing drinking/smoking games (e.g. take a drink/toke every time you hear “bipartisan”). If you’re like me and you don’t drink or smoke, you can still participate in Buzzword Bingo, which I’ll have all ready to go well before the speech begins so you can get your card in order. Sure, there are no prizes, but it just might keep you from killing yourself while still allowing you to be an informed and responsible citizen.
Hope to see you guys tonight, beginning at 8:30 Eastern, 5:30 Pacific.
Looking forward to it, Bret, thanks.

Oh hell, I'm fresh out of booze. I just got back from a walk to the corner drug store (yeah, it really is on a corner) and I had a bottle in my hand, but I put it back and bought orange juice instead.
I'll do shots of OJ with you.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if I should watch it...but now I have a reason!
ReplyDeleteIf I don't get that phone call I'm expecting I should be around.
