Will we see food riots, civil unrest on an unprecedented scale, states seceding from the Union, massive inflation, a military coup in Washington, D.C., criminal senators and congressman hanging from ropes? There are many possibilities, some good and some not so good, but the collapse of the criminal Federal Government of the United States is inevitable...

I think it's hilarious that a population that can't even be bothered to comment on this is supposedly on the verge of revolution.
ReplyDeleteThey're quietly biding their time, Bret. Seriously, if you think people in America can take unlimited abuse from the ruling class and their instrument of oppression, the state, without ever exploding in frustration, you're wrong.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, there is only a finite amount of oppression that a people can tolerate. It won't be bloated, aged anger from Tea Partiers if it ever happens, so I don't understand why discuss it yet. The things actually driving people to revolution (government cutting assistance, a president holding office for 30 years).
ReplyDeleteI bet you my ideology that nothing even resembling a revolution will occur under Obama. If it does, I will be more than happy to completely change my opinions on all things. I think this is a pretty safe bet, even though I stand to gain nothing but the satisfaction of simply being right.
When there is a revolution, it will be (as it has always been) not to topple the government, but to change it, often to do more than it did before.
