Get them out of there!

This morning the local talk radio program was filled with voices concerned about the Dear Leader's President Obama's speech to the school kids. Some parents were saying they were going to keep the kids at home today, while others stated they would tell the little ones that the President's words would be explained to them by Mommy and Daddy when they got home.

I asked myself, why, if these parents are so alarmed by this, do they have their children in the Government Indoctrination Camps public schools in the first place? Do they not want to make the sacrifice necessary to send the kids to private school? Or to take the time and effort to homeschool the precious darlings? If your offspring mean that much to you, maybe it's time to make the sacrifices required to do right by them. But that might mean giving up those shiny new cars sitting in the driveway, the meals out, the big screen TV in the living room, and dozens of other lifestyle choices that send hard-earned dollars spiraling down the rat hole.

I also wonder what these parents think goes on everyday in those stolen money tax supported "schools". The public schools were and are designed to produce obedient, unquestioning slaves.

The state propaganda site Daily Kos, unsurprisingly, can't find the propaganda in the help guide to the speech provided to teachers.

The guide at one point asks: Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?

To which to Kos writer answers (apparently assuming only partisan Republicans are upset by those words, and would be fine with it if Bush II were still in the White House, which, in the case of Republicans, may be true, but misses the point):

Notice that they don't just say Democratic mayors, senators, members of congress, or the governor. Respect should be had for all elected leaders, this is nothing new. We've been told the same thing for a very very long time.

But as critics of public schools have always said, that is precisely the point! Kids must be taught to honor the state, its officials and its government, and to obey and comply with the edicts of the state and its evil minions. Since both major political parties are essentially branches of the state, it matters not which party is in charge of the proceedings. The almighty state marches on, unhindered in its mission of enslavement.

At least statist shills like the Daily Kos admit that loving Big Brother is indeed what we've been told to do "for a very very long time."

    Totally biased towards Democrats, indeed.

Also, you hang on every word of Obama when it suits you. It IS important to listen to the President and other elected officials, ESPECIALLY if you oppose them.

Also, do you really think a major reason kids go to public school (certainly one you felt worth mentioning as a scapegoat) is because their parents are irresponsible, and that they have other luxuries instead? Mind-boggling... I know it's pointless to even suggest to you that there are families where both parents work and they still barely get by. I'm sure you'd just complain they need to spend more time with their kids.

What about the desire to avoid religious indoctrination at private schools?

And homeschooling is a joke; point to successful people in the world who are homeschooled, not social morons who were taught how to ace standardized tests and compete in spelling bees. A search online yields no one born in the 20th century, just a list of people who utilized the best education of the time: tutoring (in the case of the people on the list, their parents). Besides, why should children be subjected to the tyranny of their parents all day? One article about how parents shouldn't be tyrants, but a few days pass and suddenly you support parents being the sole influence in a child's life?

This is the problem with basing your ideology on anti-authoritarianism: you just blindly oppose anything that people with power do. If they do something right, you have enslaved yourself to being wrong because you could NEVER agree with ANYTHING. So sad...

  2. Gotta disagree with you Ginx; wish I was homeschooled, then I wouldn't have come out of the indoctrination camp a vaccinated, indoctrinated Statist.

If it wasn't for the internet's wealth of information, I'd still be a leftist (shudder).

Much of what is taught (or implied) in state schools is propaganda, especially with regard to history and politics. My history teacher told us that laissez-faire caused the Irish potato famine, ffs.

And as for economics, well Keynes is the deity of academic economics, which I fortunately had nothing to do with; but a lot of Austrian economists (eg Peter Schiff) say that Austrian school is ignored by the academic establishment, despite it being accurate about the current collapse when other schools weren't.

Ginx, what the hell are you talking about??? I stated clearly that it wasn't about Democrats, but about children being indoctrinated to have reverence for our "leaders", no matter party they belong to.

Also, you hang on every word of Obama when it suits you. It IS important to listen to the President and other elected officials, ESPECIALLY if you oppose them.

As the Daily Kos writer understood, it isn't about listening, it's about respecting, and no child should be propagandized to have respect for tyrants.

Also, do you really think a major reason kids go to public school (certainly one you felt worth mentioning as a scapegoat) is because their parents are irresponsible, and that they have other luxuries instead?

The reason kids go to public schools is because of compulsory schooling laws (which should be immediately abolished), and because such schools are "free", i.e., funded with stolen money taken from property owners in the form of rent (property taxes) paid to the government landlord.

What about the desire to avoid religious indoctrination at private schools?

There are non-religious private schools, and, unlike public schools, no one is forced to pay for or attend them.

Besides, why should children be subjected to the tyranny of their parents all day?

Why should children be subjected to any tyranny at all? I'm for freeing them completely from forced "schooling", you're not.

  5. I'd like to see some objective evidence that homeschooling is inferior to government school in some way, but Ginx seems to like to do these hit-and-run absurdities, so I won't hold my breath.
