Thom Hartmann tells us how we can save the economy and possibly the world..

..in a column so insanely stupid that it had me literally laughing out loud.

This stuff parodies itself. Who can argue with such gems as:

All those Boomers retiring would make room in the labor market for all the recent high-school and college graduates who are now finding it so hard to find a job.

OMG. F-ing brilliant, man! Why didn't I think of this?

We could also, like in France, drop the 40-hour maximum-workweek threshold to 35 hours (used by the Mitterrand government to successfully lower unemployment and stimulate the French economy).

Of course! Follow the European model! That's the proven road to prosperity, right? Well, except that the US has consistently outperformed Europe (in unemployment, economic growth, living standards, medical innovation, etc) for quite some time.

If you need a good laugh, read Hartmann's entire column. You'll be rolling in the aisles.
