"So, drug consumption is the responsibility of the person who consumes; of the family who is responsible for educating; and of the education system and the socioeconomic context," wrote Fox, who was president from 2000 to 2006. "What we have to do is legalize the production, the sale and the distribution."
While Fox advocates weakening the cartels by legalizing their market, Calderon has launched an offensive against the drug cartels that has resulted in headline-grabbing drug-related violence in some parts of Mexico. According to the government, more than 28,000 people have been killed in the drug war since Calderon took office in 2006.
28,000? That's a whole lot more than died on 9/11, but it's okay, because the "war on drugs", like the "war on terror" is just and holy and it doesn't matter how many innocents die as a result. Sounds like the attitude of an Islamic jihadist.
I hear "conservatives" constantly complain about the drug violence in Mexico and the spill-over into the United States along the border, but yet they continue to advocate the very policies that are the root cause of that violence and death, the insane, prohibitionist war on
RE:"No, not that Fox, fool!"
ReplyDeleteROFLMFAO. Thanks for my laugh of the day. LOL
I hate this. Every former leader says this shit, even Clinton was all for legalizing weed after he was president.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it impossible to get one of these assclowns to support a good idea when they can actually do something about it? "Gee, if only I was the most powerful person in my country, I would make a difference..."
I can't wait to hear all the great stuff Obama would have done.
