Judge Jim Gray Comments on the Drug War

The first group that benefits from the drug war is the big time drug dealers. Of course! The drug "laws" have made them rich; they don't want that to change. It's funny to me every time I hear one of those blathering phony big government "conservative" radio show hosts talk about the evils of the Mexican "narco-state". Hey, dumbasses, the U.S. drug policy you support is the root cause of Mexico's drug violence.

The judge then states that "law" enforcement is another group that benefits, because they are paid huge amounts of tax money to fight the "war". This also means that they don't want that war to ever end (hey, it's job security at taxpayer expense).

And of course, the drug war helps the terrorists, too.

Also, check out Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. Below is a statement from their website:

LEAP does not promote the use of drugs and is deeply concerned about the extent of drug abuse worldwide. LEAP is also deeply concerned with the destructive impact of violent drug gangs and cartels everywhere in the world. Neither problem is remedied by the current policy of drug prohibition. Indeed, drug abuse and gang violence flourish in a drug prohibition environment, just as they did during alcohol prohibition.
