I can spin around in circles and if I do it long enough I can see god, but then I recover to reality and understand that just all the blood rushed to one area causing a delusion.
And that moron Beck picked a religion to get some poon - what an asshole...
I'm a teetotaler could not tell you about acid, I have had Nitrogen narcosis possibly similar - I don't know.
Scary thought - why do I think personal experiences with god are delusional... JESUS CAMP got a bunch of hopped up kids standing crying to oxygen depravation, screeching incoherent sounds and a girl in the background screeching ahaaa...Ahaaa......ahaaa...ahaaa... how could you not start to see "visions".
I need to rent that movie for Halloween this year...
I'm kidding, I know how you get nitrogen narcosis. That was what I was implying in my quoted answer to myself. I read "Sphere" when I was like 9, so... I can even point out you don't mix in nitrogen in your tank, you need a helium mix; nitrogen can be added (a trimix) but it's really the lighter helium which does the trick.
I used to skin dive. I could dive to about 30 feet, but these days I think the weight I put on would make me a little too... well... buoyant. I'm also not sure if I could SCUBA with the lung problems I have.
That is why I mentioned agreeing with Bill M. on that, because most of the time I do not agree with him...
As an anti-thiest I take exception to making fun of people about religion as Bill M. does... I just think he is an ass...
To me the subject is far too important - important because people make serious life choices based on religion (or no religion) I don't think it is a matter for joking most of the time...
If someone wanted to burn my wife or kids because they found them to be "witches" and clearly religion if following the commandments of the texts the "good god-fearing" people would do what is commanded. Then I have to decide what caliber will work best to fix that problem...
You sound like a dyke who swore off men because your husband beat you. Emotional personal experience don't impress me. Am I supposed to trot out examples of atheists killing religious people just to counter this, because I'm not going to bother...

When he wants to, even Ginx can use logic and reason!
As to personal experiences, obviously we want something more than anecdotes, but even the most logical of us cannot always overcome their influence. Humans are reasoning creatures, but also very emotional ones.

I don't need a personal experience to understand religion is bullshit...
I happen to not trust christians to fuck-off because I had my life ruined by some and not a god-damned- one of the fuckers cares to refute their own god-damed fucked up sack of shit religion full of narcissistic parasites!!!
Again I don't need a bad experience to understand religion is bullshit - but I can sure have a reason to fucking hate all of them and understand that they are dangerous.
I would tell you to F off but it would not work, your too impressed with yourself.

You mean I could have been spinning in circles like a dervish and saved all that money I spent on acid?
ReplyDeleteGod damnit.
Still... the flashbacks are worth it. Gotta love a drug that keeps on giving.

Is Nitrogen narcosis anything like doing nitrous oxide? Where do they even sell that...
ReplyDelete"You get it from scuba diving, dumbass."
Oh... so you can buy tanks of the stuff?
No, you have to go below 80 feet in depth, every diver reacts at different depths (most below 80 feet).
ReplyDeleteIf you dive mixed-gas the problem goes away - no nitrogen, and yes it is toxic at depth/pressure - regular air that is...

ReplyDeleteReligulous was a silly movie.
ReplyDeleteIt was, um, ridiculous.
I got it Bret...
ReplyDeleteand without pressure Helium just makes you sound funny...
You should try it sometime, diving that is...
Even with helium, I don't sound funny.

TC: name one thing ridiculous about Religulous (besides the religion based on cannabis).
ReplyDeleteBret,
ReplyDeleteI saw it a couple of years ago. My wife and I, hardly religious fanatics but thoughtful, thought it was puerile, disingenous and pointless.
It felt more like a nyeh, nyeh, dipshit with his own issues to iron out than seeking any truths.
My opinion, ok?

That's what it ends up being: Making fun of people under the guise of critical thinking.
ReplyDeleteFuck him and people who think like him.
Who gives a shit if people want to switch religion in adulthood? Or if they choose to worship. They don't have to answer to anyone - let alone him.
Using the Founding Fathers as if they (would have) support (ed) his views is obtuse.
I think, I'm just guessing, but I think they were a little more thoughtful than he supposes.
Yeah, nothing is more serious than invisible friends.
ReplyDeleteDeath and torture by order of invisible friend is very serious...
ReplyDeleteEvil and violence by order of invisible friend is very serious...
I had to move my kids and my family out of an area and lost everything and watched my kids and family get abused...
I know what the delusional christians are capable of - I always say three months but I would bet that it would be only three weeks...
Malleus Maleficarum was not an accident, and I and the family are armed for a reason.
