It's a tough dual-argument. On one hand, torture is torture and has great significance. On the other hand, terrorism is subjective and really shouldn't mean a damn thing. I agree completely, but it's tough to make the argument to people who have been sold on the idea of "terrorism = evil" and "torture = works in 24".
