Most people just don't care much about what's really going on in the world. I listen to my co-workers conversations. For the guys, the last few days it was the World Cup and especially the LeBron James "where is he going" decision. That's all they wanted to talk about! For the gals, it was recipes, make-up, where to go out to drink on the weekend, and a little Lindsey Lohan.
Try mentioning something like auditing the Federal Reserve to them and they look at you like you're crazy.
