So you got behind on your mortgage payments and the bank threatens to foreclose. If you get the payments caught up the bank won't auction off your house, right?

The papers are reporting cases across the country where banks are foreclosing on homeowners who aren't behind or even on homeowners who have their mortgage loans with someone else. Trusting the banks to follow through and take care of paperwork properly is like trusting a politician to do the right thing. It could happen, but I wouldn't count on it.
