I'm kind of surprised to see this video posted here. The AFSC is a Quaker-based pacifist organization, so I would not expect their "reporting" to be objective.
That being said, however, I do think that recruits need to be told the truth. My Dad (USAF 1959-63) said even back then the recruiters are all liars. That is very disturbing to me.
Wally, just because a source is religious in nature does not make the information invalid. Only when “you have to have faith” or “god said it” with absolutely not evidence is the religious point of view invalidated.
Lots of moral issues, philosophical, and even cultural issues can be shared by all religious and non-superstitionists. Only identifying a source of “something” as supernatural or evading or ignoring factual evidence is the issue.
Keep religion out of government and you and I allow freedom we can often find ourselves in common directions.
