The hypersensitive, teary-eyed liberals at Crooks and Liars are emoting like crazy over Glenn Beck's "hate." Seriously.
What a bunch of wimps.
They remind me of the hysterical conservatives who said we needed to support our "commander in chief" as he invaded random countries for fabricated reasons.
While Glenn Beck is certainly no libertarian (though he likes to sometimes claim he is) he is currently campaigning tirelessly against much of what the current regime is doing. I sometimes listen to him in the morning on radio and occasionally see his Fox News television program and find much of what he says pretty radical for the mainstream (though that's not necessarily saying much).
ReplyDeleteBut to the traditional "liberal" types, to voice any serious opposition to the state equals "hate".
I have watched Glenn Beck, and while I would laugh if he died tomorrow, he certainly hasn't said anything as mean as that. Some quotes these people found offensive would have helped. I think when he talks about Obama and race, he's projecting his own feelings of racial preference onto the president, but a racist Republican is hardly news.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anything he says is criminal, just retarded. His loss of sponsors is due to him being completely out of touch with reality. He follows simple formulas like "what I'm about to say may sound ____, but ____" and [insert liberal] is ____. I'm not saying they're ____, but they're ____."
There's nothing wrong with boycotting, either. I would think libertarians would love the idea of people actually voting with their dollars in the free market... yet I seem to get nothing but flack from them for boycotting Wal-Mart for censorship.
What liberal doesn't criticize the government? Certainly not a good one.
I'm certainly not against boycotting, but seriously, any liberal who is actually offended by this guy a total pussy. (Your impression of how Beck talks is quite accurate BTW.)
ReplyDeleteAs for Wal-Mart, I don't buy CDs there either.
