Blog of the Moment: "The Temptations"

I think this is the most colorful blog ever selected as Blog of the Moment. If you enjoy sweet things and desserts in particular, it might be worth a look...

"The Temptations"

I love recipes as much as the author of this blog seems to, and I actually try them out. My grandmother (we called her Nana) was big on recipes, and loved receiving cookbooks as presents. In fact, she had an entire bookcase with nothing but cookbooks (and each of those cookbooks contained additional recipes torn from newspapers and magazines) but she rarely made it out to the kitchen to prepare any of them. Like an armchair traveler who loves viewing photos and films of exciting foreign lands while never venturing beyond the living room, Nana never quite seemed to make it out to the kitchen to test her cherished collection in the real world of pots and pans and spatulas and spoons. She was an armchair cook, but the best armchair cook I ever knew.

I'll probably write about my own huge and currently dormant hoard of cookbooks here on Skeptical Eye someday, but first I'll have to hazard the maze of boxes in the garage and avoid an avalanche (there is a whole category of deaths caused by falling books, did you know that?) in order to retrieve them. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. If I suddenly stop posting this week, you'll know why.
