Vile War Propaganda

Some conservative Republican I know on Facebook posted this despicable poster:

Note the vile propaganda. The brown people having their heads blown off in ______ (fuck it, I can't even keep track of all the countries we're in anymore--fill in the blank yourself) are not civilians, insurgents, children, bystanders, or people using self-defense against a brutal occupying force. Certainly they are not human beings. No, no. They are "terrorists." History started on 9/11, doncha know (the terrorists just woke up one morning and decided that they hated freedom) and so now our brave, heroic "snipers" are out there shooting "terrorists" in the name of freedom!

In reality, the military is loaded with idiots who barely graduated high school, bullies who get off on harming others, murderous psychos (Timothy McVeigh, anyone?), control freaks, rapists, and other piss-ignorant yahoos and authoritarian types. The sniper in this picture would likely be scrubbing port-a-potties if he wasn't out randomly shooting "terrorists" on the taxpayer's dime. Hell, I wonder if he can even read.

The sniper is little else than a cold-blooded, murderous animal who loves killing, wounding and hurting others. He rationalizes his murders by deluding himself into thinking they are "terrorists." But they are real, living human beings.

The only terrorist is the coward hiding behind his gun in the hills.

  1. Don't forget the brave pilots who drop bombs from 40,000 feet.

  2. McVeigh's doctor was former head of MKULTRA. There's more to that than meets the eye.

Plenty of well meaning fools join the military. They chiefly aren't psychos...their training brainwashes them into desensitisation towards, and dehumanisation of, their 'enemy'.

Based on what I've read, most soldiers feel nothing when they're 'over there', but can be haunted for the rest of their lives. Look at the suicide rates.

Blame the kings, not the pawns. (especially when the bastards come into schools looking for juvenile coffin filler)

Oh, and blame chickenhawk neocons too.

  3. When I was in high school, I was perfectly aware that the US military is a murderous group of thugs and that everything they do is unjust. So these kids are either extremely dumb or just love killing (the two tend to go hand in hand).

  4. There's lots of reasons people join the military: family, money, get to meet interesting people and shoot at them...

Then again, there's lots of reasons people join a gang: family, money, get to meet interesting people...

I'm still not sure anyone can define the difference between an army and a gang.

...or a government and a gang!

The "pawns" do the actual killing. They're beneath contempt.

  7. If we slander "the troops" then we are just as ignorant as the ones who discriminate against all arabs. It is true that some soldiers have done terrible deeds on purpose, but most unfortunetly are just as much victims of the state as those that they have killed. As libertarians we must rise above marginalization and name calling. We need to go for the soruce...the state itself! These soldiers are slaves as much as we are.

  8. There is no excuse for atrocity, but what you say is a bit ... harsh.

I can't stand the right wing crap either, but I won't pretend there is no need or purpose to the military. There are good people there too, doing tough jobs. I sincerely hope they can all come home soon.

We don't have a draft, so to hell with them! If it wasn't for the cannon fodder voluntarily signing up to "serve" their country, the U.S. wars of aggression would not be possible.

Fuck you and your pro-state trolling!
I see you also stopped following Skeptical Eye? You're the worst kind of hypocrite and liar, and because of people like you, the evil of the U.S. Military Industrial Complex just keeps rolling along.

Now go back to spewing your moronic "thoughts" to your non-audience and your pathetic 20 visits a day to your blog, idiot!

  11. I've never been called a troll before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. In retrospect I can see how my comment did not come across as I intended. My bad, my words, I own them. No excuses - I'll simply say "I'm sorry" and move on. Feel free to delete my comments if it makes you feel better.

I did unsubscribe (not from comments obviously), but that has as much to do with focusing my reading list as with the content of your blog. I would come back if you don't mind someone who might occasionally disagree with you. Otherwise, you don't have to tell me twice - I'm gone.

Interesting point. I sort of agree, but unlike us I don't think most of these guys have cracked their pro-state brainwashing. A lot of these guys come back and become anti-government once they witness death of their friends and the atrocities they participated in they realize they got screwed over. I know that "I was just following order" is no defense, but I like to think these guys were tricked into believing the state. But I get your poimt.

  13. Oh and before I forget, I also agree there is no purpose for the military.
