As old as the pyramids?

They had heart disease in ancient Egypt? That still doesn't mean our modern processed food diet isn't less healthy, does it?

Toss Out the Myths With the Embalming Fluid

In the above cartoon I see a little problem with the "politically correct air", as the critics of the "food police" aren't advocating not eating at all, just that the case for so-called "healthy eating" is overstated. A correct analogy would be with the issue of air pollution. In Mexico City you can live while breathing the awful air, you just might not live as long if that's all you breathe your entire life.

  1. Just so you know, your body's physiology isn't swayed by rhetoric. I wouldn't say "processed" foods at the problem, but most of us eat horribly.

Don't get me wrong, I eat like a pig and expect to die before 50 of food related illness. I drink drink as much soda as they say you should drink water, and I haven't drank water since Clinton was president. That doesn't mean I can just deny I might get diabetes or that my extra weight is likely a result of the 1000 extra calories per day I drink.

Oh, and if a couple cents taxed on each soda I drink pays for my medical bills later, all the better.
