  2. I already have you on my blogroll.

The War on Drugs(tm) is such . . . fucking bullshit. I used to live in El Paso, TX. El Paso is currently overrun with insane violence, which make me very sad because when I lived there 15 years ago, it was a vibrant, happy border town, home to a burgeoning art and music scene, many happy families and a lovely border park. Now . . . I feel like crying when I read the news from El Paso/Juarez.

It's our fault. What is going on in El Paso/Juarez and other border towns is caused by the War on Drugs(tm). We could end this tomorrow by doing what Portugal did and legalizing drugs. Guess what? Drug abuse rates, per capita, are far lower in Portugal than they are in the US. That's right, legalize drugs and both crime and addiction go down.

But try convincing our modern Puritans to do what's right and good.

  3. Too much money in enforcement, not enough stoners with the motivation to protest. Quite a conundrum.
