Are You Tired of "Daylight Saving" Time?

Let's all go AZ on this and stay on standard time year round. Even staying on "Daylight" time year round would make more sense than this idiocy of changing all the damn clocks twice a year. More government stupidly is what it is!

Oh, and you always have someone who's late or early for something the morning after the switch. "I forgot to change my clocks". Of course you did! The state wants you in a constant haze of confusion with its arbitrary insanity in order to better control you!

    No.

  2. As an AZ resident I hate the time change. It screws up so many things because even though our clocks don't move, we are forced to adapt to the rest of the country.

    1. Agreed, Chris! I think that's why Northern Mexican cities (Mexico itself starts DST on April 1st this year) match their Daylight change to the US to avoid the hassle.

    2. Wow... it's not enough that a state doesn't do it, they have to bitch about how everyone else is doing it and then impose their opinion on everyone else.

      Fascist much?

    3. The Fascism is the Daylight Saving Time Laws that force an arbitrary and artificial time change on residents of all the other states. At least the Arizona government is sane on this issue.

    4. Sorry Bret but you are dead wrong.

The government imposing it's will and dictating how time is told is Fascist.

When told the reason for daylight saving time the old Indian said…
‘Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket.’

    5. Bret wrong? What else is new?

    6. If the government says to do it, it's automatically wrong, but if some crackpot in Arizona says we should all do it... it's just old Indian wisdom.

And it has nothing to do with making a day longer. Why am I not surprised an Indian who can't even understand the concept of ownership couldn't grasp daylight savings. Is that the level of discourse I can expect on this topic? "An old Indian said it wasn't a good idea, ergo it's pointless."

    7. Stop attacking old Indians, Bret! Who do you think you are, Rush Limbaugh?

  3. DST was originally started to cut down on incandescent lighting & energy usage. Recent studies have shown that DST does not have a great impact on these things, especially when compared to all the problems it creates (such as, work, shipping, travel schedules having to be changed, troubles caused by loss of sleep, & others). Furthermore, research has shown that DST is outdated & no longer necessary & since most of the world does not observe DST it would simplify things, and has shown that the rest of the world does just fine w/o DST.
