improve road safety not by improving road safety, but by making it possible for humans to be in ever-higher-impact, ever-increasing-speed collisions
that's actually reducing brain trauma through external protections
and not at all anything like improving road safety
which would begin with making cell phones illegal behind the wheel, hands-free or not...
making shaving behind the wheel illegal...
making reading behind the wheel illegal...
making putting on makeup behind the wheel illegal...
actually all those things presently ARE illegal under the categories of negligent and/or reckless driving, but no piggies enforce them, unless the jurisdiction in question has an express illegality (i.e. no cell phone unless hands-free) and then the enforcement is full of headaches like the hands-free system is present and working but wasn't being used at the time in Q... etc...
lots of ways to make life "safer" that are more beneficial than building better body armour
I'm wagering this "research" has more to do with building more indestructible soldiers... who is funding it?
