May as well start this new SE series. It's just about books, or books I'm reading, have read, will read, or want to read. I'll start off by asking what book YOU are currently reading. Tell us about it in the comments (and if you're really lucky, Blogger won't eat your comment and make it disappear forever).
Yeah, it's a very lazy Sunday for me, so what can I say, except I'm still reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (and no, I'm not an Objectivist). I always read more than one book at once, so I'd also like to ask if you read more than one book at a time. Currently I'm also reading Man's Search For Meaning by Dr. Viktor E. Frankl. I finished the first part about his experiences in the Nazi concentration camps, and I'm into the Logotherapy section now.
I'd like to tell you about my current obsession with Westerns, but as I said, it's a lazy day today, so I'll tell that story in a future book report.
Books have always been some of my most cherished friends, and I mean not only their contents, but the fact that they are tangible things you can touch and hold in your hands, and go back to even years later and pick up again and know it was the very same book you held and read with excitement as you turned the pages and were transported into another world. Without books, I would not have the kind of total escape from the harsh reality of my existence that they bring. Television and movies are cool and do some of that,, but they can't take you totally someplace else as a good book can.
