Ron Paul 2012: The Youth Strike Back
Posted by

Go to any Ron Paul event and it strikes you immediately: What's up with all the young people?
The 75-year-old Texas congressman packs halls on college campuses. His campaign volunteers often look too young to shave. And even at a recent New York City book signing, it's surprising how many teenagers and 20-somethings are lined up for an autograph, clutching Paul's new book, Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom.
Sixteen-year-old Rob Gray says the age of the crowd doesn't seem odd to him.
It's "the old canard of the young being more open-minded than the old," he says.

Only you would think a youth revolt could be led by a 75 year old. Adorable, to say the least.
ReplyDeletePaul is the establishment. You can't work in government for decades and then bitch and moan about how useless and horrible it is. No one but drunken frat boys find that bullshit appealing, and they drop him like a bad habit after college, when they've sobered up a bit.
No, the establishment is everything Paul opposes, including the Federal Reserve, military industrial complex, and American Empire. That's why the establishment will do anything to try and discredit him or keep him from becoming president.
ReplyDeleteAs far as age goes, your prejudices are disgusting, but it's ideas that win out with young people in the end. It's why the young are still attracted to real ideas, whether from the left (Noam Chomsky) or the "right" (Ron Paul, Ayn Rand).
'we shall take steps that will damn well astound you'
ReplyDeleteWell, Bret "Grinx" Alan, I am 41 years of age and am voting for Ron Paul.
