Here. Enjoy!
I'm actually listening to it right now. The consensus seems to be that D'Souza actually "won" (in the audience's eyes). Might have some thoughts when I'm done. D'Souza is a babbling fool regardless. ;)
UPDATE: Bah, D'Souza's arguments are so jaw-droppingly horrible that I don't think I can listen to this crap from beginning to end.
I was a regular commenter when D'Souza had his blog on AOL.
ReplyDeleteClaiming he "won" the debate i a favorite tactic of his, regardless of the actual outcome.
It's a pretty easy guess that his arguments are lame when I dumb ol' country boy like me can shred them to bits ;-)
I attended the D'Souza/Loftus debate, and I have to say that Dinesh beat John hands down in 1) number of jokes told, and 2) number of words used, and that's it. If that's what it takes to win a debate, then our entire concept of "debate" is flawed.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't get how a theist could ever win a debate. Their argument is always "nobody know how we got here, therefore my preferred sky pixie did it."
ReplyDeleteD'Souza's arguments are so horrible. It was actually his really poor essay on Kant and faith that he did that pushed me from being a weak atheist to a strong one.
