History of the typewriter recited by Michael Winslow from SansGil—Gil Cocker on Vimeo.
I won't go into detail on my own personal history with the typewriter. I'd always written my masterpieces longhand, then bought, first, an old second hand manual typewriter and began composing some short fiction on it. Soon I had an electric typewriter. I started churning out fiction that I actually sent to magazines for consideration (and soon amassed a wall of rejection slips). Before I could get very far into my major novel, the age of computers was upon us. I don't even know what happened to my typewriters.
