What Rick Santorum fails to realize is that a government that determines morality and is elected by the people means that the people now have circular morality. In other words, they elect the people to tell them how to act morally.
Moral issues start at the individual level first and move out from there. There is no way to impose it from the top down without shooting pet dogs, as we have come find out.
