Democrats: Let's Ban Profits!

Posing as an anti-business crusader, Peter Schiff found a number of DNC delegates and attendees who support explicitly outlawing profitability. We deliberately avoided speaking with the occupy protestors camping outside in tents to get a more "mainstream" Democratic perspective!-http://youtu.be/07fTsF5BiSM

The Democrats do it because they care
Posted by
Nick
After the police state and national security cult of the Bush years, it’s nice to have our national security statism dished out by such a bunch of sensitive souls for a change. The Reaganites and neocons sent out goons in uniform to bash people’s heads in, both domestically and abroad because, you know, they were all mean and stuff. The Democrats do it because they care.
Just look at the Obama administration’s decision to name a Navy cargo ship after slain civil rights activist Medgar Evers. Can you imagine the Bush administration doing something like that? They’d probably have named it after some warlike figure from naval history. Not Obama. If our progressive Commander-in-Chief rains death from the skies on Iran (only because he had to do it to “stop their aggression,” dontcha know), those below can take comfort in knowing not only that they’re being burned alive on orders from a progressive rather than from a nasty old right-winger — but that the ammo comes courtesy of Medgar Evars!
Now that’s change I can believe in! I can’t wait for the Martin Luther King, Jr. daisy cutter. Or maybe they can name every HK drone that kills an American citizen without trial after Thoreau, Howard Zinn, Gandhi, or Utah Phillips.
And the folks who were gassed, pepper-sprayed and clubbed out of their Occupy camps all over the country in the last few days should feel better that not only were at least two of the attacks (in Oakland and Portland) ordered by mayors of impeccable progressive credentials — they even received helpful advice from progressive little piggies at the Homeland Security Department and FBI of Mr. “¡Sí Se Puede!” himself.
That’s right! Mayor Quan said that, just before she sent in her enlightened and caring stormtroopers to clear out Occupy Oakland, she was in on a conference call of eighteen cities discussing how to handle the Occupy situation. Better yet, according to Rick Ellis of Minneapolis Examiner, based on a “background conversation” with an anonymous official from Obama’s Justice Department:
“… local police agencies were advised to seek a legal reason to evict residents of tent cities, focusing on zoning laws and existing curfew rules. Agencies were also advised to demonstrate a massive show of police force, including large numbers in riot gear. In particular, the FBI reportedly advised on press relations, with one presentation suggesting that any moves to evict protesters be coordinated for a time when the press was the least likely to be present.”
Afterward, Mayor Quan denied that the cities “coordinated” their raids; she merely “talked with other mayors to share experiences.” See, that’s the kind of thing you can only get from a Democrat. She didn’t talk with them about how to bust people’s heads in, like a grouchy old Republican mayor. She “shared experiences,” like a New Agey Californian!
Of course, those of us in the South are quite familiar with informal meetings of government officials to “share experiences.” Like when several county commissioners get together for a barbecue at the county executive’s house, for instance. And while they’re sitting around sharing experiences and all, the subject just happens to come up of — say — what a great industrial park Uncle Billy Bob’s pasture would make. Perfectly legit — isn’t that what Oprah calls the Law of Attraction?
So folks all over the world, from Oakland demonstrators to wedding parties in Afghanistan, are finding out what Hope and Change are all about. Those progressive bullets hurt so much less, don’t they?

Democrat Mayors Crackdown on Occupy Movement

On a more local level it’s imperative to ask where the majority of the onslaught against Occupy mobilizations have originated. A few weeks ago I documented...the electoral leadership of nine of the most damning cities—I included billionaire New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg because up until the post-9/11 elections he was a lifelong Democrat, and he frequently diffuses the rhetoric of the Democratic party in a smoke-and-mirrors attempt to feign support for civil liberties and civil rights—and all nine were Democratic mayors. This includes the first female Asian mayor of Oakland and the black mayor of Atlanta...

Democraps Is All Alike
Posted by
Nick
You have to wonder who's advising Democrats these days. With the economy stuck in a two-year, Obama-dug rut, their only new economic growth idea is to raise taxes and hike federal spending.-Democrats' Tax-And-Spend Insanity
Well, Democraps is all alike, whatever level of government they're at. In California, which has a budget crisis and no way to borrow or print their way out of it, it is mandated by the state constitution that the budget nevertheless be balanced. However...
Senate Republicans blocked a tax solution to the deficit Friday, prompting Democrats to respond with a countermeasure expanding local taxation powers.
With a deficit of almost $10 billion in the state, the only solution of the Democrat crappy party is "more taxes", taxes that are already eroding the purchasing power of cash-strapped citizens with high taxes every time they turn around. Sales taxes are almost at 10% (unbelievable and outrageous - and a crime against the poor - yet the Democraps, who love poor people of course, just voted to extend the evil sales tax increase!), state income taxes are high, and the "car tax", which is NOT a simple registration fee, but instead an unjustifiable personal property tax based on the value of your vehicle (and for millions Californians, that means registration renewal time means a fee in the hundreds of dollars - though at the moment: Notices are not going out for people whose registrations are due for renewal in July or August...The reason? The Department of Motor Vehicles doesn’t know how much to charge. The vehicle-license fee is scheduled to drop to 0.65 percent from its current 1.15 percent on July 1. Gov. Jerry Brown hopes to keep the higher rate in place as part of a series of tax extensions ) is ridiculously high as well.
These taxes have driven business and individuals from the tarnished Golden State, but the Democraps persist with their failed policies. Oh, but they've done all they can in making cuts to the out-of-control spending that they are responsible for in the first place.
Democrats want to solve the remaining $9.6 billion deficit with extensions of higher sales and vehicle taxes, as well as a return to higher income tax rates that expired last year. Democrats asserted Friday that they had already taken hard votes by slashing universities and various programs for the poor in March.
Naturally! An old Democrap deception! Cut popular programs to get the public against budget cuts and outraged. Turn on the poor instead of the bloated state government bureaucracy! This is what local governemnt criminals do as well, when they want more taxes to feed on - they don't cut waste, they go after things like schools, libraries, police and fire services - first!. I should add that I'm all in favor of abolishing public schools and the police (go for it!) but the idiot, moronic sheeple are too stupid to favor freeing themselves from the shackles and instruments of control of the ruling class.
Senate Democrats on Friday sought to extend those taxes for an entire year, as well as reinstate a smaller dependent tax credit and income tax surcharge. That would raise an estimated $8.1 billion.
"This allows our state to move forward, making the investments that our parents made for us," said Sen. Fran Pavley, D-Agoura Hills.

Scumbag Fran, what the f**k are you talking about? Investments? The Democrats have sunk the state of California and it's on the verge of total collapse. Go to hell, pond scum!

The Two Party Dictatorship
Posted by
Nick
I don't know if I personally agree on all of the listed issues that are supposedly being blocked, though they may indeed have a majority of popular support, just like currently polls showed that a majority are against raising the debt ceiling once again, though of course, the will of the people in our wonderful "democracy" will be ignored.
POX Manifesto – “We need a new approach to our electoral process”
The parties also collaborate in every way possible to keep their control of the electoral system. They make it difficult for candidates going outside the two parties to get onto the ballot with restrictive laws and procedures, they gerrymander their districts to favor one party or the other, and they do everything they can to make the actual campaigns as expensive as possible. To top it off, the media helps by ignoring non-party candidates or stereotyping challengers.
Second, their rivalries mean that no meaningful, necessary changes can be implemented…
Each party is constantly jockeying for power, positioning themselves for advantage in each upcoming election. Every action is controlled by political expediency.

The Futility of Democrats

When it comes to Republicans, it’s pretty well understood that they say one thing and do another. For the most part, this is actually what many of the people voting for them want. In fact, other than the Republican fetish for claiming to be “small government” while running ridiculously crippling deficit budgets, Republicans very accurately represent their constituency.
This is largely due to a system of understanding coded messages.
“Tough on immigration” doesn’t mean they actually stop immigration, just that they will make life harder for Hispanics. If you come from Europe or Canada, you can still expect a warm welcome.
“Tough on crime” means more drug users and dealers (especially minorities) will be arrested and incarcerated. Jails will have to be built just to house them all, but corporate tax evaders can sleep well at night knowing no one is enjoying unapproved intoxicants.
“Tough on terror” means Arab Muslims will be shot, shelled, held without trial, and tortured both at home and in clandestine prisons in third-world nations. Christian Americans who shoot abortionists can still expect basic human rights.
Basically, Republicans represent racists very well, and they’ve figured out how to market it under slogans that are not overtly obvious.
Democrats, however, have no system. They campaign as sort of Socialist-lite candidates, but once they’re in office… they’re not all that different from Republicans. Sure, you have some exceptions to the rule, but for every Dennis Kucinich or Alan Grayson, there are dozens of conservatives posing as liberals.
There are supposedly lynchpin issues which separate the parties, but the only one I have ever distinguished is abortion rights. If you think women have sovereignty over their own body, Democrats can generally be trusted to be pro-choice. If you see women as concubines, Republicans are the way to go. But is this issue important enough to be the basis for choosing our leaders?
The other issues Democrats claim to espouse are ignored once they’re actually in office. Gay rights? Don’t hold your breath. Ending the wars? Yeah right! Responsible regulation? More like regulation responsible for ending competition for larger companies from up-and-coming competitors. Socialized medicine? I recommend marrying a Canadian. Protecting the environment? Nothing but empty words and oceans full of crude.
So honestly… what good are Democrats?

Democrats Seek To Block Green Party From Fielding Candidates
Posted by
Nick
The DemocRATS in Texas love democracy so much (I thought that's what the name of their party implied, anyway) that they want to keep the Green Party there off the ballot:
Why don't they let the people decide who they want to vote for? Oh, because it's not really about that, you see, but just about maintaining the illusion of choosing our leaders. No real choice is allowed.
I disagree with the whole idea of voting myself (though I still look forward to any "throw the bums out" trend we may see this fall) and think we should just stop giving legitimacy to the ruling regime by doing this:
Attorneys for the state Democratic Party headed to court in a dispute over whether candidates from the Green Party can be on the Texas ballot.-Texas Democrats go to court over Green Party
Why don't they let the people decide who they want to vote for? Oh, because it's not really about that, you see, but just about maintaining the illusion of choosing our leaders. No real choice is allowed.
Officially, there is a right of revolution. The People – capital P – are said to be sovereign. This is a convenient legal fiction. It keeps the citizenry satisfied and subdued. All civil governments have made armed revolution illegal. Every revolutionary movement claims the right of revolution. In all cases, when a revolutionary movement topples the previous regime, the right of revolution officially ceases within the formerly revolutionary camp.
Maybe you think this: "If the sovereignty of the citizens is a legal fiction, then why are they allowed to vote?" Answer: for the same reason they were allowed to vote in the Soviet Union. Voting provided the Communist government with a bogus sense of legitimacy. In Western political theory, the process of voting supposedly legitimizes the despotic regime. The choices on the ballot were screened by the Communist Party. So, the citizens' votes counted for only one thing: to provide a religious sanction from the official god who then submitted, namely, the People. The People was a phony collective god without meaningful sanctions. -Gary North
Progressives are told every election they must vote for the Democrat, regardless of what policies that Democrat supports. We are lectured, we are cajoled and we are scolded if we entertain the idea of voting for a third party candidate. Ralph Nadar is dubbed the ‘great spoiler’ because, so the logic goes, he single-handedly caused Gore and then Kerry to lose the Presidential elections of 2000 and 2004. The Green Party that has consistently promoted sustainable technologies and the preservation of our environment, two cornerstones of progressive thinking, is also considered a spoiler.
However, there is another truism that trumps the fallacious spoiler theory. It goes, “the definition of insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different result.” If progressives want fundamental change, they must consider making fundamental changes themselves. And the ‘spoiler theory’ is the first myth that must be changed.-“SPOILER THEORY” SPOILS DEMOCRACY

Shame on Everyone for Obamacare

The Democrats ushered in Obamacare but Republicans laid the groundwork in 2003, and were certainly no heroes in the lead up to this latest big government scheme.
Republican George W. Bush signed into law the largest entitlement expansion of government in health care up until that point, when he signed the Medicare prescription drug benefit. Bush said "These reforms are the act of a vibrant and compassionate government."

Call me crazy, but I suspect that if the Democrats had any brains….and I mean any brains whatsoever, they just might have been able to pass their “universal health care” scheme. Heck, Obama had some good approval ratings early on.
That is, if the Democrats showed moderates that they could govern with even the slightest hint of fiscal sanity or integrity, much of the country might have accepted (or grudgingly gone along with) a universal health care plan. Instead, Democrats (and Obama in particular) chose to piss away all of their political capital on complete and utter bullshit. They have done everything humanly possible to convince moderates that everything government attempts will be a reckless, gigantic, nauseatingly expensive clusterfuck (not that there is anything inaccurate about that perception).
If it were a conversation, it would go like this:
Moderate voter: Alright, I suppose that I might be willing to give this ‘universal health care’ thing a shot. As long as it won’t be the massive, inefficient, bureaucratic mess that conservatives keep warning about.
Democrat: Great! Well first we’ll spend a couple trillion on ‘stimulus’ packages. Then we’ll spend trillions more to bail out corporations. Of course, we’ll still need trillions more for excessive pork, foreign wars, government employees and pure random waste. Not to worry, though. After the country is bankrupt and nearing financial armageddon, we’ll give you some lame-ass “halfway” healthcare program, which will also be mind-numbingly expensive and ineffective…
Moderate voter: You know what? Screw it. I don’t want it anymore.
Democrat: Racist!
We can only be happy that the Democrats’ own political stupidity has helped kill one of their more sinister plans.

Demorats Push Through Destroy the Economy Bill
Posted by
Nick
The ruling political party, acting much like the rubber-stamp legislative body in some fascist/socialist dictatorship, rammed through an unread (that's right, members of Congress are allowed to vote yes for something they haven't even read, is that responsible governing?) 1500 page "cap and trade" bill.
The bill mandates a cut of 17% in so-called greenhouse gases by 2020 and a whopping 83% cut by 2050. All carbon emissions will now carry a literal price-tag, increasing costs across the economy and adding what amounts to another regressive tax on the poorest among us (don't ya just love "compassionate" liberals), but the DemoRATS don't care about ordinary people (in spite of their lies), no it's all about more Federal control of our lives by the ruling class.
Also notice how statists (like religionists) think that something can be commanded into existence on a whim, by a mandate that they pulled out of their ass. The bill "mandates that 20 percent of electricity comes from renewable sources and increased energy efficiency by 2020." That's right, wave a magic wand called a bill and it will happen because Messiah Obama has ordered it so.
Get ready for more poverty followed by more laws to "solve" the new crisis that government created in the first place.

Toss Those Obama T-shirts in the Trash
Posted by
Nick

It’s time to toss those Obama t-shirts in the trash.
On Monday the Democrat controlled House voted 226-202 to approve a rushed $106 billion dollar war spending bill, guaranteeing more carnage in Iraq and Afghanistan (and lately Pakistan) until September 30, 2009, which marks the end of the budget year. The Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of the bill’s first draft last month, with the final vote on a compromised version to occur in the Senate sometime in the next couple of weeks.
The majority of opposition in the House came from Republicans who opposed an add-on to the bill that would open up a $5 billion International Monetary Fund line of credit for developing countries. This opposition in the House led Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Tuesday to quip, “It’ll be interesting to see what happens here. Are my Republican colleagues [in the Senate] going to join with us to fund the troops? I hope so.”
No longer can the blame for the turmoil in Iraq and Afghanistan rest at the feet of George W. Bush alone. This is now Obama’s War on Terror, fully funded and operated by the Democratic Party.
That old fraud and hypocrite, the dishonorable Harry Reid, actually pulled the "support the troops" crap. When are all those Bush and Cheney hating "liberals" going to openly start protesting warmonger and mass-murderer Obama? (To be fair, a few--but far too few--are protesting).
Isn't it funny how the left is only really anti-war when Republicans are in charge.

So the "hard left" liberal Democrats are finally running the show.
Have they ended US imperialism? No.
Have they shut down the US empire? No.
Have they uttered a single syllable of apology for the hundreds of thousands of innocents that have been murdered, raped, decapitated, and tortured by the US military? No.
Have they abolished the CIA or DHS? No.
Have they restored the Bill of Rights? No.
Have they reduced the unaccountable power our out-of-control executive branch has acquired? No.
Have they ended the racist war on drugs? No.
Have they ended corporate welfare or privileges? God no.
Have they taken any semblance of a stance against torture? Of course not.
They haven't done anything worth a damn. But they can take away your tobacco!
Thank goodness they're going to use the iron fist of the nanny state to smack us in the right direction. At least Ralph Nader will have slightly less godawful columns to write--he'll get to move on to the other 234,543,654,231 industries he wants to shut down.
It sure is a good thing the Democrats are in charge, instead of those rotten Republicans.
