Taxation IS Theft

It kind of reminds me of statists who say, "But without government, what's to stop someone from robbing me?" Look at your paycheck, dumbass. EVERY paycheck. Look at the receipt when you buy stuff. See where it says "sales tax"? Look at your property tax bill. Never mind the hundreds of other ways you get robbed by the state indirectly, in ways that aren't so obvious. If you still worry about how a LACK of "government" might result in you being robbed, you're kind of being a dumbass.-Larken Rose

Taxes and Civil Disobedience

If a thousand men were not to pay their tax-bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. That is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution. When the subject has refused allegiance, and the officer has resigned his office, then the revolution is accomplished.

The Estate Tax Needs to Die

Many believe the death tax affects only the wealthiest of Americans. It's clear from the experience of many California farm families that that is a myth.

Instead, a death can means liens, mortgages and years of crippling debt. Sometimes the load is too heavy and the families can't hang on to their agribusinesses, homes and family legacies.-Families talk about living through the death tax

IRS to Suspend Passport Rights if You "Owe" Taxes

...there does not appear to be any specific language requiring a taxpayer to be charged with tax evasion or any other crime in order to have their passport revoked or limited — only that a notice of lien or levy has been filed by the IRS.-Owe The IRS? Bill Would Suspend Passport Rights For Delinquent Taxpayers

This bill is from evil statist bitch Sen. Barbara Boxer from the rotten bankrupt state of California.

Irwin Schiff Interviewed by William Wagner

Irwin Schiff on the Biggest Con and the Federal Mafia

I remember listening to Irwin Schiff (father of Peter Schiff) many years ago on local radio talk station KABC out of LA with host Ray Briem, as Schiff was a guest on the show many times. Briem would always advise listeners not to take Irwin's advice and instead stay within the law while fighting the income tax.

Democraps Is All Alike

You have to wonder who's advising Democrats these days. With the economy stuck in a two-year, Obama-dug rut, their only new economic growth idea is to raise taxes and hike federal spending.-Democrats' Tax-And-Spend Insanity

Well, Democraps is all alike, whatever level of government they're at. In California, which has a budget crisis and no way to borrow or print their way out of it, it is mandated by the state constitution that the budget nevertheless be balanced. However...

Senate Republicans blocked a tax solution to the deficit Friday, prompting Democrats to respond with a countermeasure expanding local taxation powers.

With a deficit of almost $10 billion in the state, the only solution of the Democrat crappy party is "more taxes", taxes that are already eroding the purchasing power of cash-strapped citizens with high taxes every time they turn around. Sales taxes are almost at 10% (unbelievable and outrageous - and a crime against the poor - yet the Democraps, who love poor people of course, just voted to extend the evil sales tax increase!), state income taxes are high, and the "car tax", which is NOT a simple registration fee, but instead an unjustifiable personal property tax based on the value of your vehicle (and for millions Californians, that means registration renewal time means a fee in the hundreds of dollars - though at the moment: Notices are not going out for people whose registrations are due for renewal in July or August...The reason? The Department of Motor Vehicles doesn’t know how much to charge. The vehicle-license fee is scheduled to drop to 0.65 percent from its current 1.15 percent on July 1. Gov. Jerry Brown hopes to keep the higher rate in place as part of a series of tax extensions ) is ridiculously high as well.

These taxes have driven business and individuals from the tarnished Golden State, but the Democraps persist with their failed policies. Oh, but they've done all they can in making cuts to the out-of-control spending that they are responsible for in the first place.

Democrats want to solve the remaining $9.6 billion deficit with extensions of higher sales and vehicle taxes, as well as a return to higher income tax rates that expired last year. Democrats asserted Friday that they had already taken hard votes by slashing universities and various programs for the poor in March.

Naturally! An old Democrap deception! Cut popular programs to get the public against budget cuts and outraged. Turn on the poor instead of the bloated state government bureaucracy! This is what local governemnt criminals do as well, when they want more taxes to feed on - they don't cut waste, they go after things like schools, libraries, police and fire services - first!. I should add that I'm all in favor of abolishing public schools and the police (go for it!) but the idiot, moronic sheeple are too stupid to favor freeing themselves from the shackles and instruments of control of the ruling class.

Senate Democrats on Friday sought to extend those taxes for an entire year, as well as reinstate a smaller dependent tax credit and income tax surcharge. That would raise an estimated $8.1 billion.

"This allows our state to move forward, making the investments that our parents made for us," said Sen. Fran Pavley, D-Agoura Hills.

Scumbag Fran, what the f**k are you talking about? Investments? The Democrats have sunk the state of California and it's on the verge of total collapse. Go to hell, pond scum!

Rand Paul: A Tax Per Mile You Drive "May Be The Dumbest Idea I've Heard This Week!"

The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.

...

Among other things, CBO suggested that a vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax could be tracked by installing electronic equipment on each car to determine how many miles were driven; payment could take place electronically at filling stations.-Obama administration floats draft plan to tax cars by the mile

George Will made a shocking prediction. The last Republican standing to face Barack Obama next year will be Tim Pawlenty. God help us! Pawlenty recently showed he is for big intrusive government by expressing his willingness to tax Americans per mile they drive, which means more technology in your car to report your habits to government.-George Will Picks Tim "Gonna Tax You Per Mile You Drive" Pawlenty as the Republican Nominee

The Income Tax Is Theft

Update: I first posted this in April 2008, then redated it for 2009, skipping 2010. Now, I'm redating it once again for 2011. If I were writing it now, it would probably be better. At the end of the post I'm adding a video that was posted here at SE before by Cork, as well. Thanks...

Since April 15 is rearing its ugly head again, I'm redating this post from last year. Feel free to leave a comment (you can disagree and I promise if you do I won't call you an asshole unless you are one).

"Stop thief! Help, help! I've just been robbed!" If you were to hear someone say this and you ran to find out what had happened and they told you that an organized group of thugs had stolen a large portion of their hard earned income, you would certainly be sympathetic, wouldn't you? Of course you would, until they explained that it was the government in the form of an agency called the IRS that had committed the thievery. Upon hearing this you would probably laugh or call the person insane or a nut or something. But why would you react in such a manner? Here is one definition of theft:

In the criminal law, theft (also known as stealing) is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent. As a term, it is used as shorthand for all major crimes against property, encompassing offences such as burglary, embezzlement, larceny, looting, robbery, mugging, trespassing, shoplifting, intrusion, fraud (theft by deception) and sometimes criminal conversion. In some jurisdictions, theft is considered to be synonymous with larceny; in others, theft has replaced larceny.
Someone who carries out an act of or makes a career of theft is known as a thief.

I like that last sentence in particular. It means everyone who works for the IRS and almost all of those holding elected public office is a thief. Beyond that it's important not to be confused. If something is wrong or immoral, it doesn't matter who does it. Just because something is "legal" by the laws of a country means nothing. If you believe theft is wrong when an individual or private criminal organization engages in it, then you have to be consistent and oppose it when government does it, otherwise you have no real standard of morality that can be called objective, but a sort of divine command theory with government as God deciding what is right or wrong and granting to itself the right to violate the rights of everyone else in the society.

I was originally inspired to write this by an atheist who had written against conservatives and libertarians who want lower taxes or the income tax eliminated. This atheist thought this was immoral, as to oppose taxes is to take money from programs that help the poor, etc. This same atheist also is against the Iraq war! Why the exclamation point? Because your taxes, idiot, also support the war and the US occupation of Iraq. You are funding the killing of thousands of innocents with your tax dollars. Fool! Be consistent, you politically correct jerk. Massive taxation means a huge federal government, and only a massive tax base can support our current evil interventionist foreign policy.

And whoever came up with the notion that wages equal income? Most of us that pay the income tax do so on the remuneration we receive for our labor, not from interest or dividend income. If I trade 40 hours of my time and labor for a weekly paycheck, I have gained nothing. It no more can be called income than if I trade you a bag of apples for an equally valued bag of oranges. Should I be taxed on such an exchange? What if I had to give the government 30% of the oranges I got from you? I'd actually be behind on the exchange, wouldn't I? But that is what is actually happening when I pay tax on the wages I've earned by the sweat of my brow. Think about it. Not only am I a victim of theft, but I'm now also a part time government slave, being forced to work for my master, Big Brother.

I was listening to some stupid talking airhead news anchor on one of the cable networks regarding the rebate most tax payers will start receiving beginning in May. The airhead asked what people are going to do with that "free" money. That would be like a burglar stealing things from my house for years and then giving back a TV set and then having someone ask me "What are you going to do with that free TV?".

Something For Nothing

Professor Thomas Sowell addresses welfare state dynamics.

Let's see, government help comes with strings attached, government is less efficient in providing its "services", and it takes by force (theft) in order to get the money to fund its "something for nothing" programs.

Is Taxation Moral?

This was a protest in which the morality of taxation was questioned. A number of peaceful individuals supported Joe as he paid his property tax in $1 bills. This afforded him and others time to ask challenging questions of the San Diego County Tax Collector, Dan McAllister. The idea was to bring to the government employees' attention the coercive nature of government. They said that no one had ever taken this sort of a stand in San Diego. The employees likely went home that night with more questions on their minds and more emotions churning in their bodies than they had experienced from a day's work before.

There's Hope!

Leaving work yesterday, when there were only a few of us left on the closing shift, a short conversation began when one of the guys said "I'd like to get back all the money I've paid in income taxes someday." Then came the reply "Never gonna happen!" This person then continued with "Get rid of all the Democrats."

At this point, let me break in with some observations. These are all pretty young guys, but not particularly "conservative". What they do notice is that the IRS steals from their paychecks, and that it tends to be Democrats who love taxes and tax increases. When they mention Democrats, I think it's just shorthand for "tax lovers". The Republicans are no better at reducing the size and scope of government, in fact, they sometimes grow it bigger and faster than any Democrat could. But on the tax issue that hits even ordinary workers hardest, look at the votes of both parties, and what Democrats usually propose. Currently, the new/old Governor of California, Jerry "moonbeam" Brown, wants to extend massive tax increases to deal with the wildly out of control deficits in state government, caused by his own party's (they control the legislature) years of out of control, wild spending. In Illinois, the stark contrast between the two major parties is even more pronounced:

Patrick J. Quinn, the governor of Illinois and a Democrat, praised the decision of state lawmakers — in the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday — to raise the individual income tax rate by about 66 percent as a necessity to avert the state’s “fiscal emergency,”which includes a budget deficit of more than $13 billion, about $8 billion in unpaid bills to social service agencies, pharmacies and others, and a sinking bond rating.

Here's the kicker, though:

By some assessments, Illinois’s choice to raise taxes might not have survived without an unusual set of circumstances here, in terms of politics and timing. Although Republicans in November won control of state legislative chambers and governorships around the country, Democrats held onto control here. Still, by noon on Wednesday, the newly elected legislators were to officially take office, a fact that decreased the Democrats’ margins of control in both the State Senate and State House.

And that was why the old set of legislators — including an even larger number of Democrats — found themselves racing through an emotional, fervent debate over taxes on the floor of the State Senate well after midnight on Tuesday. If they did not pass the tax increase before noon, its prospects looked doubtful. As it was, the measure barely made it, passing 60 to 57 in the House and 30 to 29 in the Senate. No Republicans voted for it.-source

No Republicans voted for it, did ya get that? No wonder that's the perception of the common man (and I do mean man, as men are more likely to be irate about taxes than women). And if the Democrat's margins in the state legislature had narrowed upon the new class of crooks being sworn in, the tax increase might have been defeated. Democrats love to spend (so do Republicans) but Democrats are more open about their belief that the state owns your life and the bread that you earn.

The conversation at work ended with a comment from a very young guy with naturally curly hair (I'm trying to draw a picture in your mind, here, dammit) who with his youth, physique and looks has an obvious motive for staying out of prison. He has never said anything political before that I have ever heard, but he is on the Internet a lot, and the Internet is where you'll find the opinions that matter, including those of libertarians and anarchists.

After he heard "get rid of the Democrats" he replied, "No, get rid of the government"

There is hope yet.

How will carbon taxing schemes fix this?

Until I see a way the carbon taxation schemes will fix this and Big Agriculture pollution I find no reason to support useless statist legislation that profits only the worst polluters.

I am not against a better cleaner world, I just want real fixes not more corporate welfare.

Human Factors Behavioral Sciences Projects

Homeland Innovation Prototypical Solutions - Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) Project

Project Manager: Bob Burns
Project Overview: The Homeland Security Advanced Research Project Agency (HSARPA) and Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate Human Factors/Behavioral Sciences Division (HFD) Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST) Project is an initiative to develop innovative, non-invasive technologies to screen people at security checkpoints. FAST is grounded in research on human behavior and psychophysiology, focusing on new advances in behavioral/human-centered screening techniques. The aim is a prototypical mobile suite (FAST M2) that would be used to increase the accuracy and validity of identifying persons with malintent (the intent or desire to cause harm). Identified individuals would then be directed to secondary screening, which would be conducted by authorized personnel. This project is part of the Innovations Portfolio/Homeland Security Advanced Research Project Agency (HSARPA) Program within the S&T Directorate.
