The Fed's low interest rate policies are forcing the elderly to work longer

Many people who were responsible and saved for their old age now find that owing to the Fed's zero-interest-rate policy, they cannot reap a positive real return on their low-risk financial investments. Hence, unlike younger people, the elderly have increased their labor force participation substantially during the present extended recession-then-stagnation. Geezers must work till they drop. Thanks a lot, Fed.-Robert Higgs
