Desperate Liars

The con men of the bailout rip-off are using the most extreme apocalyptic language possible to get their scam passed over the objections of the voters, and it looks like their accomplices in Congress have come to agreement on a deal to rip-off the taxpayers.

The US stock market could suffer a devastating crash with shares losing a third of their value this week if Hank Paulson’s financial bailout plan fails, US Treasury officials have warned.

The financial system could face a meltdown of 1929 proportions unless US politicians succeed in their efforts for a $700bn rescue scheme, experts added.

Hmmm, the same "experts" who lied us into invading Iraq? The same "experts" who somehow didn't see this disaster coming in the first place?

One Republican said that the message from government officials is that “the economy is dropping into the john.” He added: “We could see falls of 3,000 or 4,000 points on the Dow [the New York market that currently trades at around 11,000]. That could happen in just a couple of days.

“What’s being put around behind the scenes is that we’re looking at 1930s stuff. We’re looking at catastrophe, huge, amazing catastrophe. Everybody is extraordinarily scared. It’s going to be really, really nasty.”

Next is my very favorite:

Peter Spencer, economic adviser to the Ernst & Young Item Club, said: “This is the time you have to bail people out and ask questions later. It is very difficult to see how the US banking system would survive without that. This has the potential to make 1929 look like a walk in the park.”

He means bail out the plutocrats RIGHT NOW and don't ask any troubling questions at all, you ignorant peons.

Then we have that fraud from the phony party of the people, Senate majority leader Harry Reid:

“We hope sometime [Sunday] evening we can announce some kind of agreement in principle. We may not have another day.”

Good god, the sky is falling, we may not have another day!

Liars and thieves, every last one of them!

And as the House Republicans are caving with a rip-off plan of their own, my new temporary hero is another Republican, Sen. Richard Shelby.

Some lawmakers have made clear that they will not vote for the bailout plan under virtually any terms. “I didn’t want to be in the negotiations because I object to the basic principles of this,” said Senator Richard C. Shelby of Alabama, the senior Republican on the banking committee, who would normally be his party’s point man.

Pressed about his role, Mr. Shelby replied, “My position is ‘No.’ ”

Paul Newman 1925-2008

Yesterday I hastily posted a video on Paul Newman, who died on the evening of September 26. I wanted to pay tribute to a very good American actor and, not feeling well (I've been sick this past week) I just quickly selected a You Tube video.

Two of my favorite movies of all time are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Cool Hand Luke, both of which star Newman in iconic roles. Check them out if you've never seen them (that is, you youngsters out there who only are familiar with what was playing at the multiplex last week) and if you have, then see them again. Both are worth repeat viewings, so you may want to add them to your permanent collections.

And I just read this over at the LRC blog by Butler Shaffer:

Newman was one of the best actors over the past 40 years or so. My favorite film of his was one that received very little attention, because of its politically-incorrect theme. The movie was "Sometimes a Great Notion" (also shown under the alternative title "Never Give A Inch").

I don't think I've seen it before, so I'll check it out.

Stop the Bailout Rip Off!

"There's no regular American who's for this-this is the entire American people, conservative, liberal, Republican, Democrat, men, women, black, white, hispanic, everyone is against this; and on the other side you have the government and the power elite...a revolutionary moment."

Bailout Rip Off! (and Obama's Mistake II)

Just some thoughts on the rotten, smelly bailout that is of course necessary to save the economy and the average joe (of course, the average joe is not buying any of it). The lying criminal in the White House addressed the nation, but his lies won't stand, even if the bailout goes ahead and is not blocked by my new temporary heroes, the House Republicans, who are finally starting to act like real conservatives on something.

The Liar in 2003 and 2008

Meanwhile House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that the rotten, evil bailout "has to happen" (in other words, she sides with criminal Bush and his gang of theives in their attempt to pull off a massive heist of the taxpayers) while at the same time accusing the House Republicans of blocking it. The Democrats are utter and complete hypocrites, and their go-along with the fat cats candidate Obama isn't much better. They can pass their rip off bill without the House Republicans, but that would not give them political cover, so they point the finger at those remaining in our national government with at least a little principle and conviction left. If this is the national emergency that all those wanting quick action say it is, then why don't they just go ahead and pass the god damned thing and tell the House Republicans to go screw themselves? This includes you too, Mr. Suspending My Campaign McCain. Why did John McCain consider it an emergency requiring immediate action (read Rip Off 700 Billion or more Bailout) unless he too cares nothing about the taxpayers and also sides with the fat cats? The truth is this is another phony crisis (as presented by the ruling class; there is a real crisis but the bailout is not the solution), just like the WMDs of Saddam Hussein. But it must be passed to save Bush's Wall Street pals. That's the only emergency. It must be rushed through before the people discover what a total scam it is (they are already learning this) and before anyone can think it through. John McCain you old fraud! Shame Shame Shame!

Then we have the I'm Trying Very Hard To Lose This Election Barack Obama. Can any of these Democratic Party fools read the public and the polls? If Obama had come right out and said he was against this steaming pile of dog crap of a bailout he would be a working class hero right about now (and perhaps be way ahead in the polls) . But we can't expect anything so creative or original (or right) from the nominee of the fake "party of the people", can we?

Date Farm Day

I was in Arizona for a few days recently, watching a pool drain and flood my mother's front yard. We also went on a short trip to a date farm that she had recently been to, only, once we were in the car and on our way, Mom forgot how to get there. We took a few wrong turns and she stopped and asked some workmen for directions, though in the heat they didn't seem very enthusiastic about helping out. They gave a kind of reply, indicating we should have turned at the previous road. We were now on dirt, an unpaved place with two little dogs sitting close together in the shade of some crazy weed-like plants at the side of the road. The little dogs did not look in much distress, but they didn't move at all, they just sat there, unmotivated, not wanting anything at all. Not a sound came from them and they were unchained. I pointed them out to Mom. "They must belong to the house there," she said. There was something that could have been a house that sat behind all the vegetation, but I noticed a closed and locked gate in the drive. "I don't know whose dogs they are," I replied. But Mom was now no longer interested in the dogs. She wanted to see her date farm and get a date shake. She turned back to the workmen and their big truck. "I guess I have to turn around. Are you going?" she asked them. "Yeah, yeah," one of them said. They then jumped in the truck and drove off, leaving a cloud of dust behind them. "Now I can turn around," Mom said. She made a tight u-turn and drove back the way we had come.

As we headed who knows where, past schools and abandoned general stores and run down little bars, we began to see more and more date palms, including great clusters of trees standing as mini forests in the desert.
"Those are date farms!" declared Mom happily.
I saw the groves with the fruit of the trees bagged (while still on the trees). It looked strange but logical. We stopped and pulled into the gravel drive of a date farm building, a structure that looked completely industrial, if nothing else. We parked and got out of the car, then entered a large room through the glass doors in front of us. Inside we were the only customers, indeed probably the only customers the place had seen all day. Not that they need the tourist types, although they sure had the merchandise everywhere. Long rows of in-house packaged food, including dried fruit and candy. Plus trinkets and books and a lot of postcards (5 for a dollar). Behind a counter stood a bored looking young woman. Behind her was a menu board; it offered date shakes large and small, hot dogs and something else, I can't remember. The wieners were rotating inside of one of those glass enclosed hot dog machines. How long they'd been there was anyones guess. Then Mom asked the girl how much a hot dog was and that she was hungry so she should most likely have something to eat now. It reminded me of the scene from Seinfeld where Kramer eats an ancient movie theater hot dog so his friend won't feel crazy for wanting it. "Let's wait," I told her. I could see disappointment in her face, but she agreed we have tacos at a little Mexican restaurant in town later.

It was take a date shake time and Mom ordered only one. "They're big", she said, "we'll split it. Besides I'm on a diet anyway". Mom has been on a diet for the past thirty years, though she's never lost any weight. While the woman was reluctantly preparing our shake, I took a glance at the postcard rack. There were an awful lot of Saguaro cactus photos, some with lightning flashes, amongst the not too varied choices. I actually picked out a couple, and paid more for them, as the postcards were 25 cents each unless you bought five. Meanwhile the finished date shake with actual pieces of date in it was presented, along with an extra paper cup. The extra cup was about half the size of the main cup with the shake in it. Mom took the matter of dividing it up upon herself. When she was done she gave me the smaller cup. "I think there's more in that one," she said about my tiny cup, "I gave you most of it, and besides I'm on a diet." It didn't look that way to me, and a few straw sips later my shake was all gone, while Mom was still happily sipping it up miles later. That night, after our folded taco meal in a little converted house Mexican restaurant, I took a walk down to the local Food City to buy some plums, a regular ritual of mine when I'm in town. After entering the store and bagging my plums in the lovely produce section, I found myself pulled in the direction of the frozen dessert aisle, right to the ice cream, the kind I could use for making a shake. I bought a half-gallon of vanilla.

It was of course dark outside as I left the store, and I saw several lightning flashes in the distance. I panicked for just a moment, imagining myself forced to walk home in dangerous THE POOR BASTARD WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING WALKING HOME FROM THE STORE conditions. Instead I enjoyed myself, as the lightning was obviously quite far away and unaccompanied by thunder. My light show followed me home, in the cooler temperatures of the evening, and so my day ended with a pleasant, refreshing walk. And a large home-made shake.

Charlotte Dennett, American Hero

Source

Bugliousi wrote his book The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder with the hope that someone, a state attorney general or even local district attorney, would take up the cause of justice and prosecute the criminal occupant of the White House. Well, someone has stepped forward, Vermont candidate for state Attorney General Charlotte Dennett. If elected she has promised to prosecute Bush for murder.

She also said she would appoint a special prosecutor and already knows who that should be: former Los Angeles prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, the author of "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder," a new book.

"Someone has to step forward," said Dennett, flanked by Bugliosi at a news conference announcing her plan. "Someone has to say we cannot put up with this lack of accountability any more."

Republican National Committee spokesman Blair Latoff (unsurprisingly)denounced Dennett. "It's extremely disappointing that a candidate for state attorney general is more concerned with radical left-wing provocation than upholding the law of Vermont," said Latoff. How about upholding all of the laws that Bush and his criminal gang have broken? Spokesman Blair apparently remained silent on that subject.

Current Democratic Attorney General William Sorrell stated: "The reality is, in my view, that unless the crime takes place in Vermont, then I as the attorney general have no authority under Vermont law to be prosecuting the president." Sounds like just another useless Democrat, not unlike the worthless, do nothing Democrats in Congress.

Invasion of the Pod People

Palin the Neocon Pod Person

The apprenticeship of Sarah Palin is an object lesson in how the neocons took over the American Right and saddled the GOP with their agenda of "big government conservatism" and perpetual war. Her brainwashing limns the experience and fate of the larger conservative movement, which has been reduced, these days, to a militaristic cult that remembers nothing of its origins – a movement of neocon pod-people.

Pro-life? At least one born again Christian is not a hypocrite.

Bible believing Christian David Stewart has the number of the military worshipping idolators calling themselves followers of the prince of peace (see Christian Bill Gnade's reply to my comment here). I had announced to Gnade my dismay at the overt militarism and chants of "USA, USA" at the Republican National Socialist Convention. His reply on the chanting:

I, too, was uncomfortable with some of the chanting at the RNC, but I find that I have to let go of that. I don't know if you are aware that much of the chanting of "USA!" during Sen. McCain's speech was intended to drown out the voices of hecklers attempting to interrupt him.

In the photo above is Clp. Adam Kokesh, USMC, of Iraq Veterans Against the War. He was one of the protesters at the convention that inspired the moronic, fascistic chants. Somehow (according to Mr. Gnade) the fact that the chanting was to silence a protester makes it less troubling. In fact, Gnade goes further and just chalks it up to the nature of crowds: "Crowds, as you know, are given to chanting things; from rock concerts to pep rallies, people do get worked up". Why then was he "uncomfortable" with it?

Mr. Kokesh explains who he is and how he got in to the RNC:

I’ve been a Ron Paul supporter since the beginning of this campaign. Since before this campaign started, actually, I’ve been a fan of Paul. So I’ve got a lot of friends in the Ron Paul crowd. And he’s got a lot of delegates in there. More than the Republican Party is willing to admit. And the fact that I got into there is proof of that. One of Paul’s alternate delegates got me a guest pass.

Fascism Rising at the GOP convention

The truth, you see, must be silenced, and who better to do it than a bunch of robotic chanters who must not allow a single doubt about their great leader and his glorious, righteous wars to cross their minds. The other side of Clp. Kokesh's sign read "You Can't Win an Occupation", a truth even the blind, brainwashed disciples of The Decider will soon learn (not just in Iraq, but also in Afghanistan where no invader has ever prevailed).

Mr. Gnade went on to answer my objection to the militarism in display at the convention this way: " As for the militarism, I have to confess that it does not bother me. It USED to bother me; when I was a college kid, nay, even when I was in my thirties, I had a real dislike for the military."

He here, of course (either deliberately or in ignorance) confuses the military with militarism. He goes on: "My own pretentiousness got the better of me when I was young: I was a humanities snob, convinced I was doing something more important than my peers in the armed forces."

Maybe he was doing something more important. We have reached a point of denigrating every other pursuit or occupation and life choice, deeming those in military service as more honorable and worthy than any other American. This in spite of the fact that the US military is not actually defending us in most of what it does. As I said in my answer to Bill Gnade: "The argument isn't so much over disliking the military or those that choose military service, but the role of the military and whether it is really in our interests to have what amounts to a world empire. Much of what we see from what passes as "conservative" today seems to be more pro-war than pro defense and that's what I find appalling about the current state of the Republican party. While we were invading and occupying a country that did not attack us we also left our borders wide open for any terrorist to cross at will."

The average pastor has a blind loyalty to the murderous, thieving, criminal, lying, treasonous, Republican party... As an example: Ronald Reagan was not the hero that so many Christians think. Under direct US control, Reagan's 'Freedom Fighters' raped, tortured and murdered tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Nicaragua in an effort to bring down Nicaragua's first democratically elected government. Reagan's blood-fest wasn't limited to Nicaragua, his puppet military dictators abducted, tortured, murdered and mutilated close to 200,000 civilians in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras in the name of 'democracy' and fighting Communism.

I guarantee you that the same professed Christians who idolize Reagan and Bush Jr. would curse their names if they or their loved ones were the victims. The problem is that most of America's Christians don't care about anybody but themselves, and are no better than unsaved heathens in the amount that they care. The entire Iraqi conflict (see victim in photo) is evil and we have no business being in Iraq. The Bush Administration made false accusations against Iraq's leaders, has murdered nearly one million innocent Iraqis and now we are stealing their oil. God hates what America has done to the Iraqi people...

"These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." —Proverb 6:16-19

-By David J. Stewart

And here is traditionalist Roman Catholic Thomas E. Woods, Jr. on Pro-Lifers for Murder:

There are people who spend their time arguing that being "pro-life" this year means voting for an obtuse ignoramus who thinks it’s a laugh riot to sing, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran." A savage who jokes gleefully about the inevitable creation of widows and orphans – that’s the person the official pro-life movement wants as its public face for four years. Gee, a coherent, non-contradictory message like that is just the way to win people over.

We’ve just lived through eight embarrassing years of a sloganeering buffoon posturing as a conservative, blundering from one disaster to another, and mouthing the most excruciating propaganda the whole way – and if McCain’s candidacy is any indication, that’s just the way some Americans like it...

And this is the area – laughingly called "national security," as if these wars had something to do with protecting you and me from the bad guys – in which McCain is supposed to be at his best, where he is most in his element...

The more I’ve thought and written about war these past eight or so years, the more the obvious has finally penetrated my thick skull: it is not "liberal" to describe war as a life issue. War involves the taking of human life on a massive scale. To make matters worse, the American political class, and John McCain in particular, support a string of wars that can be supported only on the basis of the crudest propaganda.

Amen, brothers, amen.

Obama Needs His Own Daisy Commercial

Because this time the threat is real.

Thinking the Unthinkable

The dangers of a nuclear war have receded from the public's mind since the fall of Soviet communism in 1989. But since the ill-advised invasion of South Ossetia by Georgian troops, and the swift response of Russia, the bellicose talk by American leaders means that the very real possibility of nuclear war must again be considered by every adult American.

Last week, in a clear warning to the United States, Russia flew nuclear-capable bombers to Venezuela. The US, for its part, has sent naval vessels to the Black Sea, and is striving to make Georgia and Ukraine part of NATO. The Bush administration has been pushing to place missile interceptor systems in Poland, on Russia's border.

Conservatives still shake their heads over the 1964 anti-Goldwater "Daisy" television commercial, which showed a girl counting petals from a daisy as a mushroom cloud appeared in the distance. That commercial frightened Americans and helped elect Lyndon Johnson.

There is little doubt that John McCain is a hot-tempered man, given to volcanic bouts of profanity and anger. It seems possible that his long captivity in Hanoi induced a form of "frontal lobe disorder," a labile mood disorder characterized by impaired executive functioning, as well as disinhibition, emotional instability, aggression, irritability or impulsiveness. He has made asinine jokes about bombing Iran, and bizarrely declared that "we are all Georgians now."

Such a man, no matter his war service, is clearly unfit for the presidency. Sarah Palin, an individual with no foreign policy expertise, has recently said that war with Russia may be necessary. Such an idiotic statement should immediately disqualify her for the Vice Presidency.

This election is not about family values, or the color of Sarah Palin's lipstick or Barack Obama's skin. It is about navigating our way through these treacherous minefields without finding ourselves at war with Russia.

Do we really want the hot-tempered McCain, whose campaign chair is a paid lobbyist for Georgia, or the clueless Sarah Palin, sitting by the red phone, and by the nuclear football?

I think it imperative, and very possibly a matter of national survival, that Barack Obama, and not John McCain, becomes president. Yes, it will mean higher taxes and boondoggle social programs and yes, he has called for more troops in Afghanistan and waffled on any number of key issues.

But Obama, or even Joe Biden, will be better able to act prudently in a time of crisis and not plunge our country into a war with Putin's Russia. We should seek friendship with Russia, not war.

Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi, who has known Senator John McCain for more than three decades...endorsed Mitt Romney for president. Cochran said his choice was prompted partly by his fear of how McCain might behave in the Oval Office.

"The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine," Cochran said about McCain by phone. "He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."

Palin: War with Russia? Perhaps So!

"These are the stakes, to make a world in which all of God's children can live, or to go into the dark. We must either love each other, or we must die."

LBJ's words suddenly ring true.

"I prayed to Satan, and things improved"

Satan worshippers killed four teenagers and then roasted them on an open fire before consuming them. The victims were each stabbed 666 times (the number of the beast in the New Testament book of Revelation) in what could only be a described as a sick ritual in honor of that imaginary personification of evil (invented by that other sick belief system, Christianity) the devil.

The victims were described as Goths, so no doubt they are now (or soon will be; Christians never make it quite clear as to how the afterlife works pre and post resurrection) roasting in the fires of hell, suffering far worse things at the hands of Jesus and his Father than those inflicted on them by the Satanist gang (whose leader was a former choir boy).

The delusional Satanists (whose delusions could not have existed without Christianity and its entire mythology of Satan, demons and other crazy superstitions) believed they were somehow gaining favor with Lucifer. "Satan will help me to avoid responsibility, I made lots of sacrifices to him." said one of the gang members. Another allegedly proclaimed: "I tried to turn to God, but it didn't bring me any money. I prayed to Satan, and things improved." I guess they never heard of the prosperity gospel.

Shorts (and Levi's) A One Week Supply (a conversation)

Not necessarily an enlightening or interesting conversation, but you can't have everything. This exchange was between two old men, retired types living on not much more than their social security checks.

Old man one: I wash my shorts and Levi's in one of those scrub tubs from Home Depot and hang them in the shower to dry, gives me a week's supply.

Old man two: I just go to the laundromat every two weeks, shove all my clothes in one of those big front loaders, take them out and throw them all together in a couple dryers and I'm done.

Old man one: I did that when I was working, but now this is easier. I learned it from my mother. She used to wash her delicate dresses in a tub of water and hang them to dry.

Old man two: Yeah, that's true, in the olden days you'd take a scrub board and boil some water and clean your clothes that way.

Old man one: Yeah, I had a scrub board once, but now I just soak my stuff in water for a couple days and they're clean.

Well, there are many of them, but at the moment he is making the mistake of going after Sarah Palin. He needs to hit back hard at Insane McCain. If he doesn't, he is going to lose, maybe in an electoral vote landslide.

Detroit Welfare Queens

The big three US automakers want a bailout. However...

Industry leaders have argued that the loan guarantees are not a government bailout because it would hasten production of fuel-efficient vehicles and reduce dependence on imported oil.

Why weren't they hastening the production of fuel-efficient vehicles during all those years when they were sitting fat and happy raking in the profits from their huge gas guzzlers? How about some responsibility for your own behavior here...oh, that's right, that only applies to ordinary individuals that are struggling to pay the bills, not big corporations (I forgot for a minute that we have a fascist economic system in this country, not a real free market).

"This is not about benefiting Wall Street," said Ford Motor Co.'s President of the Americas Mark Fields, referencing recent federal support for the investment firm Bear Stearns and troubled mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. "This is benefiting Main Street, the working men and women. The auto industry is part of the backbone of the U.S. economy."

Uh, yeah right.

"This industry could fall down, literally, or be absorbed if they don't get something in place very soon. I think it's that severe," said Rep. Joe Knollenberg, R-Mich. "Something has to happen pretty quickly because they can't compete paying 15 to 20 percent (interest)."

This same Rep. Joe Knollenberg voted for and was a co-sponsor of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, which made it much more difficult for individual consumers to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy, which many have need of because they can't make it paying 15 to 20 (or 30) percent interest to the credit card companies. Where's the bailout for all those taken advantage of by the loan sharks calling themselves banks, huh Rep. Knollenberg?

Democrat Barack Obama has criticized Republican rival John McCain for not supporting the full $50 billion loan program. McCain said last week he supported fully covering the $25 billion loan program in the energy law.

Obama, just another servant of his corporate masters. Agent of change my ass!

Oh, and the evil House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has promised "quick action" on the bailout this fall (this is the same bitch that said impeachment of the criminal George W. Bush was "off the table").

Don't you just love "democracy"?

The Shopping Cart Kids

I seem to have a lot of Wal-Mart stories lately. I'm compelled to shop there because of the prices, but what else can one do when the economy is controlled not by the free market but by the capitalist-statist-big banking-big government fascist system. But on with the show...

Sometimes, my hours being what they are, I will stop by Wal-Mart before work, but I don't think I did this time; already the details begin to fade, but I'll give you the main facts. First, I knew I would need a basket, not one of those little plastic jobs that you have to carry around the store, leaving you with only one hand to shop, no, I needed a cart, something with wheels, and I aimed to get me one. I entered the store behind two very fat women and their kids, two girls of age 10 or so. It was one of those days when all of the carts were gone from inside the store. This is not isolated to any single Wal-Mart store, I've seen it numerous times at various locations and I always wonder where in hell the cart crew is at on those busy days. Shouldn't they be out in the lot collecting carts so the store doesn't run out for customers as they enter to shop? But for some reason everytime I've seen it happen there is not a single person outside gathering shopping carts! Wal-Mart managers, do your job, please! Once I went in to a Wal-Mart at a shopping mall (on one of those no-carts days) where it was not convienient to go back outside to search for a cart in the parking lot. I mentioned my irritation to a Wal-Fart employee and she just stood there with a stupid expression on her face, before telling me to please not speak to her that way (poor little Wal-Farter, how dare a customer complain to her about the shitty service at Wal-Mart) but it was only after I spoke up that someone got on a radio and got the cart guys on the ball that more shopping carts finally showed up inside the store, where customers could actually use them. Oh well.

Back to the women and children. I could see even as I crossed the threshold that there were only four carts left, but still only the fat women party of four was in front of me and kids don't need...so I was sure to get a cart. Well, woman number 1 took a cart and so did her friend. Then the first girl got her own cart and said to the other girl (when she tried to grab it) "Get your own cart!" Now, I was standing right there, obviously waiting to get a cart, and the two mothers could see me, as could their brats kids. But neither of the two "adults" said a word to the little darlings, they just let them take the last two shopping carts so they could play store, leaving me standing there as they waddled away. So much for teaching kids to respect their elders or to have empathy for others. When my sister and I were that age we would have been slapped by Mom and Dad for even thinking about doing such a thing. Plus, we had a toy grocery store with fake food at home to play with.
